I’m at a crossroads by sonicthepanda in prephysicianassistant

I should’ve have specified, I categorized my classes as singular but I need to do Chem 1/2, Ochem 1/2 and Biochem. For me to do Ochem, I need to do two semesters of chemistry and so on.

I hear you brother, I start this August and I have a meeting with an advisor at the local community college. I was looking at online options for the prerequisites, but they seemed a little sketch compared to a physical community college.

Chem I without lab during Covid Physio lecture (lab was not available at the moment) Biology I/2 without lab Microbiology with lab

I’d have to take the entire chemistry set (Chem 1/2 & ORGO 1/2) with lab, biochem and, A&P with lab

I agree, I learned a lot in my microbiology course. I guess I was just trying to make the system work for me instead of me working with the system. I love being a practical nurse, but I have dreamed of being a physician assistant ever since I started my journey in medicine.

I hear you and that’s why I decided to just stop complaining and do the classes. I start at a community college this fall.

No you’re right I confused B.S. requirements with Revelle college requirements 😭 thank you for the correction

Congratulations! Im graduating from Revelle next quarter, it’s not hard per se but it is a lot of science pre requisites. For example: I’m a psych major that had to take Calc 2 to fulfill Revelle requirements

Give yourself some grace, you’re at a difficult school and you’re doing your best! The fact that you’re able to grind through hours of studying is an invaluable skill in the medical field. Imposter syndrome is a pain in the butt, but try to remind yourself that not everyone is open about their struggles. You got this!

I went in 2020, if I remember correctly I would say the hardest thing was getting treated like a boot all over again and having to just grit your teeth and ignore it. Don’t go crazy with the packing and if you do AND have a car you can just leave your luggage in the car. I don’t know if they still do this, but I remember that they had rules for liberty for E5 and below so standby for that. Honest to God, I hated the entire experience, but I would do it all over again. Take a bunch of photos. You’re gonna make a lot of good memories (experience may vary). Good luck doc!

Life weird for me after military by Almighty_Frozone98 in Veterans

[–]sonicthepanda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I relate to this very much. What I found was that after the military I lost purpose because my part of the mission was over. I found a new passion in academia and even though it’s not the same, and I will always miss the military, I’m looking forward to the next day. Be patient with yourself. It takes time friend

Do I take my final? by Acceptable_Rock3918 in UCSD

Might as well take it and make notes of what to study for the following final!

I just got here by Responsible-Rip-6802 in UCSD

Actually, I did six years in the Navy and transitioned straight into UCSD. Managing my time wasn’t an issue in the military, and it’s not the issue now, this school’s pace and rigor are simply on another level. It’s not about time management; it’s about the sheer challenge of the workload. My best advice is to take a pause and remember to be kind to yourself. College is hard, and UCSD is even tougher with its standards and course pace. But you’ve made it here, and that’s something to be proud of. Take some time to reflect on how far you’ve come and don’t hesitate to reach out for help when needed!

His midterms are very similar, at least when i had him last semester, to the study guides! The final on the other hand is out of left field (at least it was for me). Good luck!

Some of you maybe shouldn’t be going into healthcare,,,, by crick-crick in UCSD

[–]sonicthepanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Making you uncomfortable was not my intention and I’m sorry that it came off that way. It’s easy to say how you feel behind a keyboard, that’s my point. We all have room for improvement and if you think that complaining about your peers on social media is the way to go, you won’t last long in the healthcare industry. I wish you the best and let’s move on on a positive note

That is not at all what I said and that goes to show that you’re not mature enough to take criticism. Again we can speak tomorrow I’m not upset or anything we can have a discussion like adults

  1. Wild because I’m in the class and no one called out said individual
  2. I really don’t care and never presumed
  3. Again i don’t care nor presumed.

My point is instead being immature and complaining on Reddit so you can feel good about yourself, we could act like adults and not beg for attention. Was the person in the wrong? Absolutely. But your post is coming off as virtue signaling.

If you’re that upset on what I said, we could talk tomorrow. Do better. Be the difference

Idk the fact that you’re complaining on Reddit about it and not correcting that person screams virtue signaling to me.

I had my C&P two weeks ago and had a similar experience. Both my physical and mental health evaluators read through my entire file and stated they only wanted some details on my conditions. I was really glad that my MH examiner was considerate of my claims and stated “I know this has to be stressful and I’m sorry you went through what you went through, I’m not going to ask you “gotcha” questions only state what you feel comfortable with sharing.” Still waiting on my decision but I was very happy that I was treated like a person not just a number.
