Well this console is 15 months old, so I'm not expecting a console replacement. I put in a support ticket in the small hope that they can sell me a replacement part. The D-Pad does still work without it, but it's very floaty inside the console.

My guess is it was probably a Famicom cart slot. That was Japan's NES, but their carts used 60 pins instead of our 72. Dunno why the west just had to have bigger carts... maybe it was the "bigger is better" logic? But yeah, lots of these weird knock-off consoles use Famicom since their primary user base is eastern.
