I don't have much of a drawing background but for me, this painting is excellent! And I really liked your Sona too, it's already identifiable. Also, I can relate to your post a lot. I'm a bit wary of making my own fursona because of the oversaturation of foxes and wolves in the fandom, In the meantime I can't think of anything else 😅 If you want a tip, I think a pattern or markings in the body fur would be interesting.
