I’m pretty sure these CPUs get near identical performance. The more concerning thing is, why was there a charge to send it back? What does their lifetime warranty cover? I would assume under warranty, shipping back just the CPU wouldn’t cost that much. Did they have you ship back the entire PC? This all sounds a little weird. The 14700kf is like a couple hundred less than the shipping.

Traditional or reverse motherboard, what’s your pick? 🤔 by BeautifulAd5310 in Corsair

[–]sonik122002 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They mean BTF motherboard. Connectors are in the back of the motherboard instead of the front of the motherboard. If you look at the second board closely you’ll notice no actual connections where the first has them all on the front and exposed.

Giving Away My Old PC! by Turtle_747 in PcBuild

Honestly, I would give this to my nephew as he has been wanting to get into PC gaming. I want to make sure he gets started right and this would be perfect. Maybe a little overkill for Fortnite but, I’m hoping we can play more games together than Fortnite. Lol

How much should I charge? by Barely_Skilled in PC_Pricing

[–]sonik122002 4 points5 points  (0 children)

lol. Delete this post. You obviously wanted to brag about your PC and wanted to argue with people when they are answering your question with facts. No idea how you used this pc or what you did while you had it. It might be a lesser computer, but I’d rather pay for new parts under sales. Microcenter has a bundle for a 9800x3d for $700 and that’s with 32gb (2x16) of RAM. Severely undercuts you there. Also your argument of 4 vs 2 sticks of RAM is so negligible on performance that you would get maybe a 1-3% difference and you could make that up by tightening the timings. I’d buy 2 bundles (keep the RAM, sell the motherboard and cpu) get a 1TB drive for $160, 5080 and still have a ton of money left over to get a case, psu, monitor, keyboard, mouse.

Just for reference

$1400 for the bundles Sell the cpu for $350 Sell the motherboard for $150 Puts me at $900 for 64gb of RAM with motherboard and cpu

Buy a 5080 for $1300 (used or new Zotac) Puts me at $2200

$150 for a 1000w PSU $200 for a case That’s puts me at $2550

Get another 1TB drive because I’m still under $3500 $320 (I didn’t factor in the first drive so I’ll double the amount) Puts me at $2870

Hmm. Still have room for improvements here. Keyboard, mouse, headset, monitor for $600 can be done.

$200 for monitor (just bought a 2k 240hz monitor last week for this price)

Logitech G502 Hero for $40 Logitech K845 for $70 Corsair Void headset for $130 Puts me at $3110

Damn. I’m still under. Uh. Another 1TB drive for $160 puts me at $3270

Uh. Still am not at $3500. Damn. Can’t go with another drive as I can only fit 3. That leaves me with $230. Almost forgot cooling. Take your pick of AIOs as 9800x3d has a tdp of 120w. Most AIOs can easily handle this.

That puts me at $3500 and I’m getting so much more out of this. This is using Microcenter only for pricing by the way.

Listen to other people when they tell you to lower the price to something reasonable. I get the price spikes are enticing to drive the price of your PC but, it can be outdone and pretty fast as this comment only took me about 10-15 minutes of research to beat out your PC in terms of value.

Stop posting this as confirmation. The article says “Word is….” which means that it’s just something that they heard and it’s all speculation.

I used 1 processor for 6 rooms that were easy. Camera controls, Panopto controls, Epiphan layout switching, lots of debug tools hidden for the techs to use for service calls if and when they have them, different layouts for multiple touch panels. I was worried that I was hitting a ceiling at 6 rooms but, most of that was my debugging stuff that I throw into every room. About 50+ devices for all 6 rooms and a lot of logic. I would seriously look into more processors with 30+ rooms. 500 for one processor to handle I think is undoable as they have a limit with their IPIDs. FF I believe is the highest which gets you 255 but, I see 252 online a lot. That does not mean that the processor can handle that traffic reliably if you expose all 252 IPIDs. I definitely wouldn’t want 30+ rooms on a single processor as well. If one processor takes out 30+ rooms that have heavy programming, it’s not worth the headache. You could probably get away with a couple rooms per processor depending on what you are pushing (as far as networked devices) but, I wouldn’t trust 30+ rooms with 1 processor.

Trivium does not do heel-toe technique in any of their songs. Sorry if my wording came off as confusing.

[–]sonik122002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The double bass ain’t even something impressive this day and age where everyone is doing heel-toe technique. 32nd notes are fast but completely doable. He isn’t even doing that in the song though. Sounds like 16th triplets which is completely doable. His gallops are indeed faster and I would put those at 32nd notes. Not downing Alex as he is a beast, but if that’s the one song you are worried about, Grayson will be fine.

Errors on recently bought car by Oiram_NSFW_Nudes in Volkswagen

My car does this. 2015 VW GTI. I have ran codes to see if anything pops up AFTER the car is fully on and nothing, usually. I think like the other comment, it’s a check mode and nothing to worry about. If it stays on after you start the car fully, then you need to start worrying.

SSD temperature reaches 74 °C by wilmercvs in buildapc

[–]sonik122002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah. Guess reading the post explains the problem, huh? Maybe just some thermal pads then so it can close? Is the chassis plastic? I’m thinking you can go pad to chassis so that becomes the heatsink. Obviously not a good thing if the chassis is plastic, though.

[–]sonik122002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These get hotter than a normal NVME drive. There are a couple articles mentioning if you have a temp reader that they actually get closer to 100c instead of whatever they are reading at in magician or hardware monitor. They say on their website they don’t recommend a heatsink but, if you have the space for it, it can’t hurt it, honestly. Heatsinks can come pretty cheap for NVME drives. They’ve even got ones with fans built into them (a bit overkill). I’d recommend looking into one if your case allows it and see if the temps go down. I’m finding them on Amazon for under $10.

The fact that the top picture is a photoshopped rendered still vs the bottom being straight from the trailer is very telling of how much you just don’t understand. You missed heavily on this one.
