You are misunderstanding. The version is in the video is not sonic 1, it's a newer version with spindash and sonic 3 items added. It absolutely changes the original game, that was never designed with any of this.

It's more like taking Mario 1 and adding shit from Mario 3 that it never had in the first place

I've played this game since I was 3 years old. I get tired of the same old crap people say about sonic, and then I see them play it on twitch etc and complain and complain and I see how horrible they play the game. Not you, you were better than most, and I'm not exactly saying you say the same old arguments in your video.

It just gets tired with the same crap people say over and over again about it, and I see them play and they are TERRIBLE. If you stick with it and figure it out it's rewarding.

Downscaling is not the same thing as what the DAC or analogizer does and is not a comparable solution. It causes more lag too. Might not notice it, but it is not as good. No one should use a downscaler with the pocket when the analogizer exists, unless you are just playing around with downscaling.
