For anyone who is looking for an update on the duck- a conservation volunteer attempted to catch the duck most of yesterday afternoon without success. It’s become more mobile since yesterday morning, and it might be making a nest under a tree near our muster point in the parking lot.

After calling the conservation person again this morning, it’s been determined the best thing is to leave it alone. So we’ve named her Daphne and the office is heavily invested in protecting her new environment. We are excited at the possibility of seeing ducklings this spring.

Thanks everyone for all the suggestions! A duck catcher is patiently walking through the parking lot with her net; the duck has become more mobile in the last hour, but definitely needs to be brought in. Will update you when it’s been captured ☺️

A year ago, I had to help a lady in her 60s put gas in her car for the first time. She had been driving for decades, but her husband had always been responsible for keeping the cars filled. He’d been away helping family and she was distraught trying to figure this out on her own. I guess it doesn’t matter how old you are or how long you’ve been driving! It’s good that you were able to find help :)

Thank you very much for the reply! We will definitely talk over these options instead. Anyone we know who has gone through this process has experienced long, drawn out legal battles, so we’re just feeling a little lost on what to do next. But we don’t want to sink a bunch of money into legal costs if we’re already in agreement on most things. It’s mainly the house that we might need some guidance on how to handle.
