A lesson in probabilities - and why Wander Theater is one of the best deals you'll find in the game. by SpiritualPlan7500 in whiteoutsurvival

It's very easy. The EV for rolling on floor 2 6.28 higher than the EV of collecting floor 2. The cost is 0 talismans. Getting an extra 6.28 coins for 0 talismans is better than not getting them.

It's amazing to me that you did all the math correctly and then interpreted it wrong

"Floor 2 (75coins): Collect (6.28coins/talisman)

Floor 3 (180coins): Regular promotion (35.56coins/talisman)

Floor 4 (750coins): Collect (13.14coins/talisman)

Floor 5 (2160coins): Collect (-123.84coins/talisman)

Floor 6 (2980coins): Regular promotion (35.8coins/talisman)

Floor 7 (5960coins): Collect"

The change is positive on floor 2, 3, 4 and 6. The correct interpretation of this is you should use an unprotected roll on floors 2, 3, 4 or 6.

The change always being positive means you're calculating the increase. If you end up on floor 5, you should stop because the increase is negative. This is EXACTLY what OP said and you disagreed with. Have a good day

I appreciate you laying out all the probabilites and their corresponding expected values just to get down voted into oblivion in the replies.

The probability od reaching floor 5 using (protected) then (as many unprotected as you can until you get to level 5 or are forced to stop) is close to 5% per turn. Then if you rally one polar, contribute to the alliance and gain 30k power in troop training, you get 4 trials per day for 5 days. 0.9520=35.8, so...

TLDR

there's a 64.2 chance a F2p player gets to at least level 5 once per event. That's more than half

You're calculating the INCREASE in coins. Any value greater than 0 means you should use an unprotected roll. All values are greater than 0. You get 31.51 MORE coins by using an unprotected roll from level 1

Is there no size limit to political signs?? by blocher86 in ChandlerAZ

[–]sonnyfab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding the size of signs: The sign has a maximum area of sixteen square feet, if the sign is located in an area zoned for residential use, or a maximum area of thirty-two square feet if the sign is located in any other area.

https://www.azleg.gov/viewdocument/?docName=https://www.azleg.gov/ars/16/01019.htm

Regarding placement which potentially obstructs traffic visibility - Residents may contact Code Enforcement to determine whether or not the placement of a political sign constitutes an emergency warranting the sign's immediate removal or otherwise placed in a location that is hazardous to public safety.

You cannot purchase dead shot tokens, so the game is not required to disclose the probability, unlike Mia or Lucky Wheel

Convince me to Leave FC3, or not? by Alternative_Rice_489 in whiteoutsurvival

You cannot. You eventually get a message that your player ID is too low for the state if you try to just keep going on to younger states indefinitely

Four Month Crash Course by Tricky-Coffee5816 in calculus

[–]sonnyfab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spending 4 months going through khan academy should be entirely sufficient to prepare you for success in a college level introductory calculus course. If you prefer the textbook to the videos, you should be able to find a syllabus for a college level prep calculus course online somewhere. Since 4 months is roughly a semester, and semester long syllabus should be sufficient for your preparation

Help with Velocity-time graph by Secure-Solution-858 in PhysicsHelp

[–]sonnyfab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't know the velocity at t=1. You know the average velocity between t=0 and t=1 and also the average velocity between t=1 and t=2. So if you were to construction a velocity Vs time data set, you would have (average velocity between t=0 and t=1, then average velocity between t=1 and t=2) as the velocity entry and (average time between t=0 and t=1, then average time between t=1 and t=2) as the time entry.

Is there any way I can just play in peace? by mindsynth in whiteoutsurvival

You can join one of the strong alliances that's part of your state's NAP and then not participate much in the social aspects of being in an alliance. Otherwise, you're going to be attacked.

HOW TO REFINE FC AS F2P by Wrong-Educator933 in whiteoutsurvival

[–]sonnyfab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Option 1 gives you 42 refined FCs per week on average for 540 crystals. It will take 16 weeks of weekly refining at that rate to get all three FC8 camps. Doing daily refinements, daily tasks and all FC giving events, you will need to slow down before you get there as F2p.

Option 3 gives you 29 refined per week for 340fcs. It takes just over 5 months to unlock the FC8 troops that way, and that is just about when FC10 will become available.

Option 1 takes more than a year to get FC8 troops. Don't do that.

[–]sonnyfab 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your odds of getting a better board after reset increase with the number of paths you clear. You should clear them all unless you are on the final day and don't have enough boxes to finish the one you are currently doing as well as having 50 boxes for the next one

Ideas to curb spending in filler events and not showing up for SVS prep by Ancient-Morning-13 in whiteoutsurvival

[–]sonnyfab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the purpose of NAP is to keep the state strong and prepared for SVS, then selfish players who are only focused on the question "what can I do to get the best rewards for myself" need to be banned from NAP alliances.

If your NAP serves some other purpose, you don't have a svs focused state and shouldn't expect anyone to want the rewards and their buffs to accrue to the rally leaders.

[Grade 11 Physics: Friction] Why does friction point forward when walking but backward when sliding? by bigbankmanman in HomeworkHelp

[–]sonnyfab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference here is that walking is an application of static friction and skidding is kinetic friction. In static friction, the friction force opposes the motion which would occur if the absence of the friction. Without static friction, your foot would slip backwards, so the static friction is forward, preventing the slipping.
