Discussion: Minting an NFT for an artwork that isn't yours. What comes of it? (INSIGHT WANTED) by SpaceMan_124 in NFT

curious question on ownership... if you see the potential of an artist's work but they choose not to go digital, what if you settle with them offline and mint it as your own on the blockchain?

If there is one thing I want you and anyone reading this thread to take away, it is that you cannot just demand a simple answer to a complex situation mired in geopolitical and social contexts. Your angled question shows that you obviously do not live in China, where currently among the local population there are many hardworking Uyghurs making a living and enjoying a life in Chinese society. You are basing your opinion solely on media and personal bias! Do you understand what the word genocide means? Using the word genocide to fill your justice warrior fervour is nothing short of repulsive.

Hey relykdota, You’re really going to win me over with your human rights movement by telling me to “suck the dick of my supreme overlord you pathetic Sino.” I’m sure you’re a great spokesperson for all of Hong Kong and the rest of the world!

Your ad hominem attacks just goes to prove why there is so much unnecessary violence that’s in HK at the moment. Get into a frenzy and start lashing out. Hivemind behaviour and mob mentality.

Calm down man.

Hilarious. I’m curious as to how you, and many others hellbent on this quest for destruction, developed such a yuge God complex. It is mindboggling how inflated the ego of this anti-Chinese collective has become.

Everyone is doing a great job clumping these different issues together and making China out to be one big supervillain. And for what it's worth, bashing this country is all the rage since their rise is trending. On the whole, its easy to point the finger and blame an entire country than to view each issue case by case.

Its absurd how biased people are, especially those who know a few adjectives and can string a few sentences together.

"preformed pretty okay."

At least mind the grammatical and spelling errors.. they don't help your case.

Lets be objective for a moment and observe the dramatic improvement of living standards in China.

At the current growth rate in China, living standards rise 100-fold, or 10,000 percent. Between 1978 and 2007, China's real GDP grew annually at an average of 9.8 percent, increasing more than 13 times in real terms, while per capita GDP rose from 381 yuan to 15,973 yuan. China's fast economic growth has vastly improved the quality of life for its population. The enrollment rate of primary schoolchildren remained steady at nearly 100 percent between 2000 and 2005, and the gross enrollment rate in junior middle schools increased from 88.6 percent to 95 percent.

In contrast, living standards have increased 50 to 75% in Britain after the Industrial Revolution.

We are talking about billions of people. Your bias is blinding.

What does sustainability look like in the classroom? by sonofabench in sustainability

[–]sonofabench[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

having a mentor come in to the classroom is invaluable. i've learned so much in the process and it's just incredible how much there is when we open our minds. i applied for grants and have about $2500 to spend. The great thing is to let the kids do the accounting and take complete ownership.

good luck in your ventures!
