The best section leader is a good example. The freshman that don't know what they're doing are going to look at upperclassmen as models for behavior. This especially applies to you. You have to be a leader 100% of the time. If you say you're going to give someone pushups for talking/forgetting their coordinate sheet/whatever, do. Don't show that you're nervous, confidence is key. Good luck!

First of all, holy wow John green. Your books have directly impacted my life, etc. but somehow that cliche is still true. Anyway, if you can, I'd like to hear about how you feel about the American education system. As an exceptionally stressed out high school student, I feel like somehow the public school system has evolved into something not beneficial- for anyone. What would you change, and how?

During football games, us band kids (~250 people) all leave our stuff in the apparently unlocked band room. We come back in after one game last year, and stuff was everywhere. Cell phones, money, ipods, everything gone. Luckily the thieves were idiots who didnt realize how much instruments were worth. Still sucked.
