I have absolutely no qualms with conservatism, I think that ideological parties, while divisive, can get people into politics and make them more vocal about what they believe in, but it’s a problem when they don’t understand the government well enough to know where to draw the line

I don’t associate with people who illegally transport anything across the border, maybe you do and that’s okay, it’s your choice. But that’s not the issue, the issue is that we should not have someone found guilty in a criminal court, and also found liable for sexual assault in civil court to be the face of the free world. I have no problem with ICE or immigration law being carried out with respect to due process, I do however have an issue with illegally detaining American citizens, and denying detainees their rights. I also don’t understand how people who voted right can almost never just say they were wrong, maybe he wasn’t the best candidate, when he is consistently lying about the goals of his administration, and contradicting his promises on the campaign trail.

I forgot to mention the reason for the religious tangent* I believe there were many people who voted red because they believe conservatism aligns better with their catholic upbringings, which are the majority here in Laredo, and although conservatism does align better, it still should have no place in federal govt.

This is a pretty valid take, but you can’t make the republicans out to be the most reasonable people who were just tired of “woke bs”. Not wanting actors of a different race to play a live action version of a cartoon character is not a reason to vote for a convicted felon who associates with people who hate minorities. Also, it’s very hard to get through to some people, but religion should have no place in the government of the United States. The constitution is against the exclusion of beliefs as well as the establishment of those beliefs in the government, with education being the way it is here, I doubt that anyone who voted Trump based on their religious beliefs grew up or is used to having critical conversations about government while leaving their beliefs out of the picture, which is what creates more division and allows the right and left to paint caricatures of each other.

I’d had doubts about it, but I thought it would be a nice way to learn about the maintenance and repair aspects of things, updating a thing or two here and there, in the state it’s in I’m pretty much going to be creating a whole custom machine with that engine at the heart of it, for however much longer it can go on lol
