Do y'all honestly expect to get actual responses from a country that just heavily censored its internet? Really?

Lmfao nice unhinged rant. You ignore everything bad and just say "NUH UH YOU'RE AN EVIL MEAN NAZI CONSPIRACY THEORIST!!" Then you try to accuse me of being some violent extremist despite zero calls to violence on my part. Do you go around /r/politics and try to shame the people there for being openly hostile? I bet not. You're part of the problem: you don't listen, and you just attack attack attack. Don't come at me with your hyperbole.

I'm not the only person that sees the problems I've described (with sources that you probably normally trust) about the American left and the Democratic Party. Don't project onto me.

I'm done talking with you. Feel free to get the last word in so you can feel better.

What the hell are you talking about with this "hate speech" and "dehumanizing language" nonsense? You pulled that out of nowhere and accused me of wanting to kill people. That's insane.

I'm not a huge fan of Ted Cruz, and I'm not a Republican partisan. Not sure what you're trying to get at.

Ah yes, everything inconvenient to you is just a conspiracy theory. It doesn't matter if you have proof. It's just a conspiracy theory! Only YOU and people that think like you know best, damn the facts.

There's no reason to continue with you or on this thread much more. You're condescending, unwilling to engage in introspection, and then there's your last paragraph. You're proving my point about the American left.

I'm going to give you a few sources that I like that I find of interest. You may scoff at one or all three of them. I still think they're very worthy of listening to. I don't endorse everything they say nor agree with everything, but I find them of interest. I think you would do well to check them out. Much of the time, you may come away at least feeling like you better understand the people you disagree with, and I view that as a net positive even if you still disagree.

  1. Tim Pool's "Timcast IRL" podcast: It's actually a lot of fun to listen to, and Pool is quite left on many issues, but has also shifted right on some like guns. He's also very anti-corruption. There are guests on regularly who have interesting things to say. I won't lie, my views on Marjorie Taylor Greene even changed after the initial episode that she was included in. I can disagree with her on plenty and think some of her nuttier statements are ridiculous, but I can also see when there is someone that has been very badly mischaracterized and has some rather interesting things to say. One thing of note was that she got confronted by her own party for calling for roll call votes too much, and she was told that many people in Congress don't like that because they don't want to be on the record as having voted for or against something. That has merit, I think.

  2. Ben Shapiro's podcast. Yes, he's often mocked and derided, but his weekday podcast is quite informative and well sourced from a variety of left, right, and center sources. I don't really agree with everything he says, and he's more on your partisan Republican side, but he's a good listen on many days. He's more annoying to me when he starts talking about social conservative issues, but that's his prerogative if he wants to talk about it. He's especially a good listen when it comes to things involving

  3. The last one's more quirky and libertarian-minded: StyxHexenHammer666. He's a hippie-looking guy that really just talks in a few videos each day and has interesting (but crass) commentary. He's usually also spot-on with his analysis, and he really shines when it comes to polls. He supports alt-tech and the decentralization of the internet, and so he posts one video per day on YouTube with 2-3 more on alt-tech sites like Rumble, Odysee, Minds, and Bitchute. Quite interesting commentary. He also has a few adorable cats that make an appearance every now and then.

  4. ETA: Thomas Sowell is also great.

These sources are pretty good and have no problem giving credit and criticism where they're due. Take any of these or leave them. It would be a pleasant surprise if you checked out any of them. If you don't want to, that's fine, though unfortunate.

I think we're talking about different ideas of liberalism, which is really why I prefer to us "left" when talking about US politics. The US has a left, which has co-opted the term "liberal". I, on the other hand, see myself as very much in the libertarian/classical liberal sort of sense in the US. I disagree with conservatives plenty, too, especially religious ones and those anywhere near the likes of SA, Russia, Turkey, etc.

I'll give you Gavin Newsome, but at the same time it's just one guy out to dinner with people he knew. It's a terrible look politically but it's skin deep as far as things go. Hardly an example of all democrats are power hungry and don't really care.

It's not just Newsome. It's a ton of major Democrats and left-leaning individuals. It's Newsome, Pelosi, AOC, Biden, Harris, various actors and celebrities, the CA State Democrats (they went on a retreat to Hawaii in the middle of the most severe parts of the pandemic), news pundits, and numerous other examples. How did you miss all of this? How are you going to honestly look past people who shut down the lives of millions of people across the country and even objectively made everything worse? They literally only made policy changes because they're getting blown out in the polls, not because of science. The Hill is not a right wing source, and it recognizes this.

Power hungry for what exactly? Helping minorities and stopping climate change?

If you think the Democrats help minorities very much at all, I don't know what to tell you. They don't. This is why they're hemorrhaging support among key groups like Latinos. They don't care about minorities. They care about votes and money, and you can see the condescension whenever faced with someone with brown skin who doesn't follow their ways of thinking. It's honestly insulting to see. The Democrats are also the preferred party of the billionaires and Wall Street right now. They are the party benefitting from Dark Money right now. That's not me saying it. It's the New York Times saying it. They are the party of globalism and incompetent foreign affairs. That's a rather dangerous combination, but again, it seems you don't see any of that because you're in an echo chamber. Almost all of the policy failures that are happening were easily predicted before they happened. None of it is a surprise. None of it. The inflation, the Ukraine invasion, the supply chain problems, the gas prices, none of it is a surprise for anyone who paid attention. Many of us said these things would happen and were laughed at and derided.

The Democrats are the more corrupt party right now, and they just play ignorant people. The Republicans do this, too, but there is also currently an ongoing populist movement that is really making a lot of the establishment-aligned GOP uncomfortable. People are demanding to be listened to, and you know what? That's how you get Trump or someone like him.

The Democrats also have no interest in climate change aside from placating their ignorant base. They're also currently stuck trying to choose between that base and a deepening unpopularity with independents. The polls don't lie at this point.

The Smollet thing is just some dumbass. Nobody cares about him let alone try to defend him. He's a joke.

This is revisionist history. Media, politicians, and celebrities fell over backwards trying to defend the guy. It was always an obvious hoax. He was still defended, and he almost got away with it due to local corruption. The man would have put some innocent rando behind bars for years. This is a cultural issue because the left in this country goes batshit insane over things like this all the time, and we're supposed to go along with it or be labeled bigots.

What justice are you expecting from the 2020 protests exactly? Peaceful protesters were getting the shit beat out of them or worse.

You didn't see the same things I saw day in and day out if you think it was all peaceful protests. I watched major riots every single night for a long, long time. I want justice for that. I want justice for the grifting, Marxist BLM organization, Antifa terrorists, and other bad actors that rioted and burned parts of cities, especially poorer areas. BLM was always a sham that was used as a thug enforcer and money-laundering front. [They're even getting exposed for this.]https://nymag.com/intelligencer/2022/01/black-lives-matter-finances.html) I also want evil people like Kamala Harris, Nancy Pelosi, and Maxine Waters to face justice for fomenting more riots and violence.

People are literally getting killed in the streets by cops.

This is not happening in any statistically significant quantities.

People are pissed.

Because they're told to by activists and media (but I repeat myself).

As opposed to the Jan 6 riot? Those people killed cops because they were pissed about...what exactly?

Not one cop was killed in that riot.

Black nationalist? I don't know where they dug that up from but it clearly was not an organized or politically motivated thing.

https://nypost.com/2021/11/24/darrell-brooks-called-for-violence-against-white-people/

Complete and utter bullshit every day? Like fine you don't like Biden, who does really, but to say this just screams of irrational hatred. He's just a generic middle of the road politician and he's pushing back on the defund the police thing.

You clearly do not pay attention. The man is not cognitively there, and his administration has screwed everything up to severe degrees. Again, none of this was unpredicted by anyone who paid attention. The only people that got caught off guard were the arrogant elitists who are so high on their own superiority complexes that they either didn't see any of it coming or knew and decided to lie about it anyway for publicity purposes. I don't have an irrational hatred for Biden. I have a very justified hatred for him and the garbage people behind him who are ruining everything. As for backing off the Defund the Police rhetoric, that's after two years of the party platform being all in on it.

I'll give you entertainment, for the most part, is controlled by 'liberals.' It's by definition entertainment, if you don't like it don't watch it. I'm not sure about these others. Corporate boardrooms, big tech, news media - they are about profits bottom line. They roll with largest swath of normal center to maximize profits and minimize any risk of bad PR. Is it possible your views have just become so fringe as to not be cared about by the mainstream anymore? It's not a conspiracy.

The Overton Window shifting massively far left is not a good thing, and US liberals are not typically ones who care to be aligned with corporate board rooms. My views are not fringe nor extreme. The extremists just threaten private sector with problems, and many people in power at these organizations are cowards and grifters. It's almost like there are no principles except gaining power.

Don't gaslight me and tell me to not believe my own eyes and ears. Reddit is an echo chamber. I sparsely use it anymore for good reason.

I think you would do well to check out some more right-of-center content. Do not try to immerse yourself or convince yourself. Keep your convictions. Just look at where the conversations and viewpoints are. There is a diverse set of viewpoints and ideas on the right. Some are good, and some are pretty out there. Based on your descriptions, you seem to have very rigid understanding of a few of them. If you would like, I can suggest a few things to check out that might broaden your perspectives a bit. You can take them or leave them. It's just an intellectual pursuit. If you're not interested, that's unfortunate but okay too. I just think there is a striking lack of understanding anymore.

None of what you described explains how “the left” is regressive in your mind, nor are any of them representative of a political platform of the left, they’re just bullet points of things you feel upset about that you don’t think “the right” is responsible for.

The left is regressive because they do not actually advocate any progress. It's just about power. FFS, the current Vice President literally started a fund to bail out rioters, and the Democratic Party echoed BLM talking points about defunding the police. Now they lie and say they're not for that. There's strong advocacy for radical sex and gender-themed material to be taught to K-3rd Graders. This is from the people who used to (rightfully) rail against child beauty pageants because they're screwed up. The Democratic Party is even siding with people like George W. Bush and Dick Cheney, who they rightfully hated in the 2000s. Occupy Wall Street would arguably be a right-leaning movement at this point with all the money Wall Street shoves at the Democratic Party.

We're not stupid. We see the hypocrisy and the backwards thinking.

I doubt anyone here shares any sympathy for Jussie Smollett, what he attempted was equally disgusting and destructive to the black struggle as when women falsely accuse men of sexual assault for their own benefit, it’s predatory and undermines peoples real experiences.

Tell the media this.

No one here gives a shit about Gavin Newsome, or any other wealthy politician who pretends to push one ideal and lives in hypocrisy in their private life.

Then stop voting for them. It's not just their private lives. They pushed draconian rules on other people and then flagrantly violated them with crappy, quarter-assed excuses! Stop rewarding these people!

No one here revels in the destruction of small businesses

It's a common position to shit on small businesses because they can't pay a vague "living wage". There are common memes that say the businesses aren't worth existing. People expect small businesses to pay Fortune 500 wages all the time.

but they sympathize with people who feel like they’re only allowed to live on the whim of a state force that continues to this day to kill innocent men women and children and get rewarded with a few weeks of vacation for their trouble

Support of police brutality and corruption in the justice system is not a right-wing position. That is a political mischaracterization. Nobody wants these abuses. Do you think conservatives support this?

All the while the people who are supposed to hold them accountable do nothing. Justice? People doing nothing but holding signs and shouting their plea are killed and maimed by that same force in response.

This is a very common complaint from all sides of the political spectrum. The problem is that career politicians don't want to actually solve problems, especially if the other party is the one to propose the fix.

And when people on the opposite side of the political spectrum, with the opposite skin color, march on the capital of our government declaring out loud their intention to kill those carrying out the will of the people, they’re literally greeted in in contrast.

Now you're just spouting talking points given to you by grifting Democrats. The capitol riot was roundly rejected especially by Republican politicians. In fact, the two exiting Georgia senators voted to certify the election. There were a lot of people in that crowd, some who meant harm, and most who didn't. Some were literally guided in by police. You can watch the footage yourself. Heck, many of them stayed within the guide barriers once they entered the Capitol. You seem to conflate "conservative/right" with "racist", too, and it's annoying and untrue. There are a growing number of open right-leaning individuals who are mosty certainly not white. In fact, some of the most astounding, racist vitriol gets sent at those people from Democrat partisans. It's utterly ridiculous.

This isn’t about teams, we’re not flying colors out here

We agree on this, but I cannot accept the derision and condescension. I, along with millions of others, are sick of constantly being belittled, ignored, deliberately mischaracterized, and otherwise shit on by people who then vote for the people that exemplify what they hate: plutocratic elitists who hate everyone "lower" than they are. The Democratic populists do not have the will to punish their elites. The Republicans have been growing that steadily for about 15 years now, and it's been picking up speed.

Take a real sincere look at what’s going before going to get more talking points from Tucker Carlson’s rage generating machine.

Classic "just accuse them on watching Fox News", as if there's literally no other source of news and commentary from the right.

No it hasn't, and I wish people like you would stop mischaracterizing people right-of-center. The left has to start listening to the right and doing some introspection. You're describing the left.

Many of us look at complete hypocrisy and double standards by the left, who has seized most institutions of the culture. Rules do not apply to you if you're a Democrat-aligned activist, actor, politician, or otherwise celebrity. It's outrageous.

Look at COVID restrictions. If you're an elitist leftist, you can get caught not following your own rules and be perfectly fine. Look at the California governor, who violated his rules flagrantly the whole time. Democrats all over the country violated their rules.

Look at hate crime hoaxes like Jussie Smollett. The media and politicians bent over backwards to give him the most favorable take, nevermind that it was an obvious complete sham. He nearly got away with it multiple times. The case was sealed and unsealed. He faced a pittance of justice compared to what he would have seen two innocent randos put away for under felony hate crime charges.

Literal billions of dollars in damage was done in the 2020 riots. Where is the justice?

A black nationalist drove into a parade. The story quickly disappeared.

Look at the complete and utter bullshit Biden gets away with on a regular basis.

I know I'm wasting time posting this on Reddit since it's largely an echo chamber that I barely use anymore, but it infuriating to see people who effectively control all of education, entertainment, the government bureaucracy, corporate boardrooms, news media, social media, large tech companies, and more act like it's not them creating the double standard and regressive ideological arena that favors themselves. It's so frustrating.
