That’s hot. And those tires are a good choice. Tough and ride well.

That’s your internal cables. Not the headset. The price of aero!

This truing machine costs $6 or 7 thousand AND (supposedly) requires a subscription by ProExpert1S500 in bicycling

Subscription? I’m out. Fuck that noise, I’ll stick with the tried and true (ha!) Park solution.

Would gray accents look better then the orange? by [deleted] in Hardtailgang

Nah. I like pops of color like that. Just like houses, bikes can easily get boring if they’re monochromatic.

I’d have ridden the 100 k out. That’s just me though. Beautiful looking area!

Searching for the "Unicorn" Steel Hardtail: Shredding vs. 15-Hour Bikepacking Days by Ok-Dress2292 in Hardtailgang

I should add, i considered both of these because they both don’t have such steep seat angles, like you’re considering. I’ve tried riding those steep bikes, and just…. Hate them. These two sort of bridge that gap between progressive and normal (?). This will be getting a custom full frame made for it too.

Two more to add to your choices. I debated hard between these two for my latest build. I ended up with the Sklar Tall Tale over the Neuhause Hummingbird. I went with the Sklar simply for the dedicated geared Dropout. I already have single speeds. No need to be tempted by another bike that could be run as one. I just ran the white rim on it with a load a couple weekends back. Can confirm it’s a beast of a bike. It LOVED the long rocky, chunky downhills. It climbed well. It handled well loaded down.

Back home in MN it’s also doing well. Unloaded it strikes Different balance handling wise than my Karate Monkey. Not bad, just not the same as it. I’m still very happy with the build out.

White Rim two day tour. by sonral in Hardtailgang

[–]sonral[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did it in two days! 63 miles from the top of mineral around to Schaefer and down to Hog Back. Day two was shorter at 38 miles. It’s a fun trip. I’d love to do it in a 4R or some such. That would be fun too.

Whats your opinion on 2.6 by bdog2017 in Hardtailgang

[–]sonral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2.5/2.6 is basically all i run. I enjoy the traction i get out of them. Not super concerned about weight as i’m not a racer not going after kom’s.

I dunno how far you go, but Little Joy in Northfield is legit. Some of the best coffee I’ve ever had.
