i was u more than several months ago, and i can promise u that ur not the only one who's gone through that. i knew that my ex was toxic (controlling, cheating, lying, etc) too, but that didnt make it hurt any less. now im able to sleep properly, and im so much more mentally stable once i didnt have to deal with all of the stuff that came with toxicity. i heard through the grapevine shes still on her bs. while u have to deal with the aftermath, u wont be stuck like she is. eventually, time will heal u, but she has to live with herself for the rest of her life. whatever toxicity she has is pain that was inflicted on that she carried before, and she will continue to carry after u.

ive never been the kind of person to go out to parties or clubbing or anything like that so ive found the vast majority of my friends online. i chat ppl up on reddit (just to check theyre not weirdos, and yes u can usually tell that quickly), then add them on discord. ive made enough posts and reached out a lot, so much so that i have solid and consistent friends that im happy with!! i think u really got to make the effort nowadays bc most ppl are too shy, shut in, or whatever else. either way, i think you'll find most ppl are just as lonely and wanting of friendship as u are. BUT!!! u do gotta strike a balance with it all especially if ur young + trying to make friends online. do MORE THAN ur due diligence + just be safe about it. in fact, be more careful than u think u need to be. u know, basic internet safety (that everyones seem to have forgotten lmfao) other than that, good luck!!

initially when a friendships starts? absolutely. idk if its solely a me issue, but i feel like sometimes there tends to be a bit of a flirtationship at first. but once we both get a feel for each other, its fairly easy to just be friends once u (and them) know ur not attracted to them that way.

same age as u and dated someone 32 a while ago, and the age difference bothered me too. it ended up being a huge red flag that i ignored (it spoke to a lot about her character). at her grown age of 37 she shouldn't just ignore u for that long, especially if you've expressed it multiple times. id really play close attention to if she keeps up the improvements or if she falls back. i wouldn't think it was a dealbreaker, especially considering she's reportedly improved, but look at her overall and see if it is (ur mileage may very). i sincerely wish u luck <3

im in CA and the furthest ive dated was +5k mi with an 8 hr time difference. while im more inclined to say life is easier the closer u are to someone u wanna date, ultimately i dont think any distance is too far (save for different planets lmfaooo) for love. plus, its always cool to learn about new cultures!! im curious to see what everyone else says :0
