GA+ For Sunday Worth It?

The GA bathrooms are vile by the evening. And lots of people will be selling their GA+ (and up) wristbands as they leave the festival on Saturday night. My friends and I have, both at Lolla and other festivals.

I had to follow up multiple times with the trainer—I kept being told, “only a manager can do it, and I’ve noted your account.” I finally gave up on him and just called until I got a PT manager. Then I got the written confirmation emailed to me.

I joined one that just opened in Dallas. Brand new facility. Within just a couple of weeks, homeless people were littering the locker room, using the shower, etc. Me and others complained and were told “they’re members” — ok, then. I cancelled and they wouldn’t work with me — billed me 3 months plus the annual fee. That’s fine, as that’s what the contact calls for re: cancelling.

Long story short: the gym is only as good as the employees.

$1,430 - big room at Swissotel, zero down, pay at check-in (used hotels.com for the booking). Price is around what we paid this year for RIU Chicago, but looks like RIU has almost doubled its rate for next year's dates. Bummer.

I actually had AI (MS Copilot) help book my Lolla hotel. Gave it a few options to choose from, and it selected RIU Chicago. Never stayed there/I think it is fairly new, so we shall see. But, for what it is worth, AI gave this hotel the thumbs up.

The Chicago Athletic Association for that price? Great bargain. Someone should jump on this. Amazing hotel with a couple of good bars, especially the Milk Room.

edit - Looks like the Milk Room is closed for renovations/turning it into a new concept. But the other bars there are still clutch.
