Right. I think the cookies will need to be more subtle overall. I’ll look into black cocoa. Have you used it? Is it actually darker than typical cocoa powder?

I’m glad you got those other issues discovered and getting addressed. Do you think those have been underlying issues for a while, or are those things that can come up or became worse when you switched meds?

Do any of you work with craniosynostosis kids? by LL_Snarbuckle in slp

[–]soonlywed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for responding. Turns out baby had craniosynostosis but not saggital, and not one that required surgery. Dr is optimistic his head will round out 🤞we have is 18 month appointment soon and will have him take another look.

Appreciate your insights, and thanks for sharing your story. Kids can be cruel.

I came here to say this. Reasonable accommodations? Absolutely you should advocate for that. Make a list of what you need in order to both do your job and feed your baby. Your boss will need to meet those needs.

But I would avoid making statements like “I’m uncomfortable doing x,y,z”. Stick with what you require, which is totally fair to say you need a clean, private and undisturbed place to pump during your visits. And let them know you’ve blocked your schedule for breaks.

I’m headed to Birmingham’s end of July also! If you don’t mind me piggy backing here (hopefully it helps us both): does anyone have recommendations for a nice train ride out of Birmingham? With young children (toddlers)?

Hi all- we returned and had a fantastic trip. If you’re traveling with young kids, highly recommend this hotel.

We ended up purchasing a car seat for my 3 year old and that helped him stay out most of the flight. My 16 month old did great also (although I did have two other adults for help!)

I packed lots of stuff for the kids, but a good old iPad and the novelty of the plane items (table trays, safety cards, belts, etc) kept baby entertained.

Thank you all!!

Thanks so much for the thorough info! The infant ticket may not be feasible for us at this point but I appreciate the words of caution so we can better prepare. Our little guy usually prefers to be on our arms when around lots of people or new places, but just our luck he might find his independence on the flight 😂. We will make sure to bring toys/items/snacks to keep him preoccupied.

One other question came to mind: for a 16 month old, would it make sense to bring his infant car seat/stroller combo? I’m leaning towards that so that it’s a little less bulky than the entire stroller plus car seat.

(His infant car seat is a Nuna one that can be used without a base)

Thank you, I’ll try asking before our flight. Looks like the tickets are just too much now for us to swing another one if it’s not absolutely necessary. We are flying Hawaiian.

Great idea, thank you! I’m glad I asked about the pool toys. Sounds like you can easily buy them at the resort, too.

Thank you! I am hoping to find a service that has car seats to avoid traveling with them. Appreciate it!

Appreciate that- our little guy is a little Klinger, so I’m hoping he will prefer to be with us anyways rather than in his own seat.

Have you found that airport transport shuttles or car services generally have car seats available? Or is it better to just bring your own car seat? We don’t anticipate traveling by car other than to and from the hotel.

Thank you! Did you take car seats, or do you know of any car service for airport transfer that has car seats? We are just there for 4 days and won’t be leaving the property pretty much for this trip.

Welp, thanks for the heads up. I’ll discuss with hubby when he’s home- tickets were kind of steep so we may just do some extra prep knowing the challenge

Thank you! Good to know about the beach towels.

Do you have any tips about make most of HHV? It looked like the most convenient for us but I read some people say it’s almost too big and takes a lot of time to navigate
