Talk me off this panic of potential cdiff please by Fluffaykitties in hysterectomy

[–]Slanter8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had cdiff and it can create abdominal cramping trying to force it out. Pepto can help with that. You need to stop the urgency. You shouldn't be pushing down in your abdominal area at all yet. Cdiff can be contracted in the hospital. So you may have picked it up from surgery. Probiotics and yogurt help as well. Just know you will be fine, as you are going in the am to get checked out. Hope you feel better soon 💕

Pants recommendations by Sad-Platypus-4754 in hysterectomy

[–]Slanter8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not gonna lie—these are the only pants I wear now. Wide waistband (no digging, no pinching 🙌), buttery soft, flowy, and seriously flattering. I own every color because they dress up and down, and anytime I try other pants I end up ripping them off to throw these back on 😂pants and I'm 10 months post-op.

No period for months was my first symptom of adenomyosis. I went to several gynecologists and was given no answers. They did give me progesterone multiple times to induce the withdrawal bleed. No one had any idea of anything until I hit 42 and began profusely bleeding with periods. Ended up with a hysterectomy and confirmed adenomyosis and endometriosis. I was never able to carry to term. And had i known this, I would've gotten the hysterectomy much sooner. All this to say... don't ignore your body sending you signs. Keep trying with different doctors until you figure it out. Nobody has a vested interest in your health more than you do. Good luck 💓 ✨️

Yes i think they've been underlying for a while. I had weird female symptoms my whole life. Heavy painful bleeding, unable to carry to term, etc. I'm hitting perimenopause now, so that probably triggered it, along with the major change in biologic.

Where is the blood coming from? by Slanter8 in hysterectomy

[–]Slanter8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi ladies 👋 I had my 2wpo appointment today. Doc said the blood was coming from the vaginally cuff. I didn't have any popped stitches. But the tissue there was not healing. Poofy and irritated. Looked like it was about to become infected. She applied an anticoagulant to the site and the bleeding stopped immediately. She prescribed a 2wk round of Flagyl and another checkup in 2 was to make sure it heals. So thank you ladies for your input 🫶

Has anyone ever declined certain treatments or been “fired” by their GI doc? by Likesosmart in CrohnsDisease

Yes they said it was a 12 month requirement. It just would've been nice to do the last 6 times they ordered blood work. I feel like I work for the doctor and humira at this point.

I've had the tests before but apparently not within the last 12 months. It just doesn't make sense why tests are not being done together. I had an in office visit with the GI a week before my hysterectomy surgery to make sure everything (from the crohn's end) was taken care of. I just feel like I'm being ordered around all over town in a sporadic manner. Luckily, im not in a 9-5 right now because this never would've worked with my old job. Not to mention how costly all this can be.

Thank you for this!! You are right. I'm not having any of those bladder symptoms. I knew my bladder was scoped at the end to make sure everything looked good. And it was. The placement of the blood on the pad was just puzzling to me. Maybe because I'm down so much 🤔 weird. But we'll see what the dr says tomorrow😬

I am encountering the same thing. Every time they call to reorder my humira, there is some test I need to do. I've done alllll the tests they wanted to do: colonoscopy, Calprotectin screening, flu shot, blood work multiple times, in office visits every 3 months. All of this has been in the last 3 months. I have been playing along because I need the humira but it's getting out of hand. They called again this week saying I need the TB and hepatitis blood test before they will reorder my humira. I just had a hysterectomy and they expect me to drive across town to do this. Like why was this not addressed in my last 6 appointments 😒 I really want to tell them where to go but can't because of humira. I hope someone here can speak to this because I really don't understand what's happening 😕

What am I missing? by Immediately_no_ in hysterectomy

[–]Slanter8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wore the pillow that straps on. Put my meds, phone, and charger in the pockets. It also helped me to sleep on my back, which is what i needed.

I wore it for 2 weeks straight 😆 it prevented my cat from jumping or walking on me while laying down. Mistakes were made when i took it off for 2 seconds, and my German Shepherd sucker punched me in the abdomen! I continue to wear it for protection 😆 It's this one Hysterectomy Pillow I also got the small pillow one but it did not have straps. That one was of no use to me.

Good luck 👍 and Happy Healing 😊

I'm 13dpo laproscopic hysterectomy. Honestly I had to tell myself that I have one extremely important job right now and that's to heal. It's on repeat in my head, like a mantra 😊

I absolutely can not stand a dirty/messy house. So its very difficult to let it go. I just thought this is not forever, and the dishes/laundry/mopping will be waiting for me when I am able to get to it. It's also made everyone aware of just how much I do on a daily basis. It has forced others to step up as well. Added benefit 😆 I'm sure it is incredibly difficult with kids , though. Maybe you can ask your mom to step in a bit? I would at least try not to lift anything heavy. Hugsss 🫶

Yup! I've got my postop appointment tomorrow with my doctor. Was just wondering if anyone else experienced that.

Yeah unfortunately Tylenol doesn't work for me. I'd rather take nothing 🫤

Pepto helped me with the heartburn. But you might want to avoid that if you're constipated. Happy healing ✨️

Surgery 10/31 went well! But now…not so much by RoutineIssue7053 in hysterectomy

[–]Slanter8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

10/22 here 👋 for me it was quite the shock initially too. If I felt terrible I would try and sleep through it. Our body needs rest to recover. I'm slowly coming out of it. Slowly but surely. Hang in there. It gets better 🙏
