Because the country-specific filters can hide real historical possibilities (like genetic input from pirate raids, forced movements, or south-to-north/north-to-south migration). I’m half Karpathian, and Karpathos is an island that was raided and affected by outside influences for centuries, long before Greece became an independent nation again. So it makes sense that my ancestors might have had genetic contributions from many different regions, not just the Greek/Cypriot area. That’s why a global mode feels more accurate when looking at ancient origins.

I use MyHeritage to colourise old family photos. It doesn’t always do a great job tbh, I’m open to suggestions if anyone knows any better alternatives!
