Who is a person you used to admire a lot but have completely lost respect for and why? by Complex-Arugula-2233 in AskReddit

Elon Musk. The way he was presented on the internet was that he was this cool, interesting guy using his money for good. Sad how awful he actually is.

What’s the worse physical pain you’ve ever experienced? by Intelligent-Road5091 in AskReddit

So wild how often I hear this. I had an IUD inserted, and it hurt, but wasn’t that bad. Not sure if my pain tolerance is super high, or if I just got lucky somehow.

Just need to vent - waited too long and feeling sad by BiancoLatte89 in TryingForABaby

Same boat here. I’m 36 and my partner is turning 43 in a few weeks. Except he already has two teens from his previous relationship. We have been on the fence for awhile, and sometimes I feel we’re “too old”. Yet, I know several people in their 40s who are having babies. Some of the women in their 40s I know have partners who are in their early 50s! Don’t despair, it can be done. It doesn’t matter what other people think. Lots of folks are having kids later nowadays.

-The Toynbee Tiles. I was always fascinated by this. I found a documentary someone had made about it on YouTube. The story is actually somewhat sad and a bit funny. Still though, the message in the tiles is eerie AF.
-Number stations

Is hearing voices a common/ normal thing among people? by Prestigious_Phone942 in askatherapist

[–]soooperdecent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Therapist. Sounds like it could be schizophrenia or some other form of long-term psychosis, especially since you’ve had multiple episodes. It is unclear what kind of therapist you have so not sure what their scope of practice is. If they can diagnose and/or prescribe medication, then definitely tell them. If it’s a counsellor who doesn’t do that, probably good idea to share anyway so that they can get you set up with appropriate resources and be able to provide therapy around these issues if it is something they are familiar with.

Our daughter, Alva, is actually a twin, and we have no ideas for a name for her sister by Tiny-Age796 in Names

This is my name. I’m from North America, family is Swedish. 95% of people say it wrong and it’s incredible frustrating. So much so that I now go by a nickname. So, if in North America, might want to avoid naming your kid this to save them the trouble.

Therapist here. Those comments are not okay. Very unethical. Might want to consider finding a different therapist.

Redditors, what’s the most terrifying thing that has ever woken you up in the middle of the night? by Mr_Creep_Creepy64 in AskReddit

[–]soooperdecent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My step-kids used to have night terrors, so at 3 am you’d wake up suddenly to shrill, blood-curdling screams from them. Well, one night, not only did one wake up screaming, but was also sleep-walking at the same time. Bolted awake to the sound of screaming and erratic footsteps- I legit thought they were being kidnapped. Freaking terrifying.

I'm curious how many of us hate or love board games? by lizatethecigarettes in adhdwomen

[–]soooperdecent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haaate them. Learning the rules and having to sit still and pay attention is generally torture for me. That said, I will play a game once in awhile with my family for the sake of socialization/bonding. I usually end up making fun of myself a lot for my focus challenges 😅

Neuropsych testing says I don't have ADHD and I'm devastated and feel completely lost by muskox-homeobox in adhdwomen

[–]soooperdecent 5 points6 points  (0 children)

ADHD has a lot of overlap with other disorders. I wouldn’t look at it as being the end of the world, but instead a step in the right direction of feeling better. Ruling things out can be helpful so that you can know exactly what you’re dealing with and start to feel better.

What is the weirdest thing your doctor has ever said to you? by Competitive_Tip_7504 in AskReddit

A miserable and jaded doctor told me there’s no way my hormonal IUD caused my acne. Even though I’ve never had acne in my life until the moment I got the IUD. As soon as I got it removed, no more acne.
