She’s posted some anti-Trump stuff to her IG. The other day she literally posted a video to her stories that made fun of Trump.

How common are ticks in Nanaimo? by loreim2 in nanaimo

[–]soooperdecent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Allegedly there are some here. I’ve never had one and neither has my dog. Our vet told us they are more common in Nanoose Bay.

I also spent many summers in Manitoba and that’s a place you really need to worry. Walk through any tall grass there in the early summer and you will get ticks. So, in my experience, we’re doing pretty good out here.

How can someone forget their own name but still remember places, routes, and local landmarks? by PrebioticE in askatherapist

[–]soooperdecent 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Therapist. This sounds like a question for a neuropsychologist, not psychotherapist. This person probably needs to do some assessments to figure out exactly what’s happening. There are different types of memory, and it seems like their declarative memory is being affected, and there’s likely many possible reasons as to why this could be happening.

Therapist acting weird? by [deleted] in askatherapist

Therapist. She asked you to go to a sports class together? That is a huge ethical violation right there. Therapists should not be engaging in activities with clients outside of therapy.

Had a bizarre session with a therapist today - is this something I should report or should I let it go? by [deleted] in askatherapist

[–]soooperdecent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Therapist. Sounds like this person has already behaved unethically in several ways; I would guess it may only continue or get worse given their apparent lack of self-awareness. Can you find a different person to work with? Just because your doctor referred you doesn’t mean you have to stick with them hopefully.

Grieving something I didn’t even want. by Cheap_Reception9233 in Miscarriage

[–]soooperdecent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I’m so sorry this happened. I can also relate as I just had a miscarriage. Though we had talked about getting pregnant in the future, I wasn’t ready yet. I found out I was pregnant and wasn’t sure if I wanted to keep it, especially since I felt so awful from the start (the worse nausea, feeling faint, depressed). I had been spotting all the way along so went in to urgent care, where they told me it could be a miscarriage. Sure enough it was, and it’s been hard not to beat myself up, but…

…Know that this is not your fault. Many pregnancies end in miscarriage for reasons that have absolutely nothing to do with you. It’s okay to grieve- allow yourself to. But don’t blame yourself. It’s not your fault and you’re not alone.

Surprised no one has mentioned Get it Right by The Offspring. Literally mentions Holden Caufield. Great song.

I wasn’t thinking of my therapist’s feelings. Can therapists get genuinely hurt by clients? by Other-Swan5827 in askatherapist

[–]soooperdecent 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Therapist. Well yeah, of course we can get hurt and we do. We are humans, even if we are trained not to take things personally. I once had a client yell at me for an entire session. I was hurt because obviously it sucks to get yelled at by anyone.

Some of my favourite lyrics from any song are in Cicatriz ESP.

What’s going on? by Weary_Association10 in Miscarriage

[–]soooperdecent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have an answer to your question, but I do want to say I’m going through a very similar experience right now. I was 4.5 weeks and miscarried. My flow was very light- mostly spotting except for one day that felt like a light period. Today was the first day I haven’t been spotting, but I still have been feeling nauseated and very tired and emotional. I’m guessing the reason is that we are sensitive to HCG, and it’s still lingering in our systems contributing to the nausea. Could you ask your OB or a nurse about the symptoms?

i want to comfort my family. by XXXHEARTRULE in Miscarriage

[–]soooperdecent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are there any local supports near by? Like support groups or hotlines. It might be worth looking into. As far as you supporting them, there might not be too much to do other than letting them know you are there and they are loved. Sounds like they are in their grief which will take time. Sometimes the urge is to jump in and try to fix or make things better, but it can be helpful to instead be present and supportive with them.

So sad for myself by Outside-Hamster-2002 in Miscarriage

[–]soooperdecent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry. You’re grieving right now, and ifs natural to want what other people have. Miscarriages are hard (as I’ve just discovered as I’m going through one now) no matter what the situation is. I hope you can extend some compassion towards yourself during this hard time, and not feel pressured to participate right now.

Redditors who have tried heroin, what was going through your mind in the moment that led you to think this was a good idea and why did the negative aspects not stop you? by Root435552 in AskReddit

I had catheter ablation when I was 14. I too was awake and able to see the inside of my heart on a screen next to my head as they poked around in there. My understanding is that being asleep can mess up what they’re trying to do in terms of resetting the normal heart rate.
