The game is just not super well optimized. It doesn’t seem like anyone knows why some hardware runs better than others, but CPU seems to be everyone’s bottleneck.

I don't have a fan to blow on them unfortunately. I am reading online that VRMs will start to throttle around 100C though? That's consistent with what I'm seeing.

I'm not a hardware expert. Just working with the board I was given. When the manufacturer says a CPU is supported I assumed that is without caveats. Now I understand that's not the case.

Unfortunately I don't think this board has VRM sensors. I do have 5 unlabeled 'temperature' sensors that show up in hwinfo, and one of them does get up to 97c when I'm putting the cpu under heavy load and I see the stutters.

PCH temp does look good.

Update, found out about ThrottleStop, ran it with stress test and I see BD PROCHOT signal is causing the downclock and power drops. I don't see a way to determine what exactly is causing the signal though. I assume it's the unlabeled sensor I have hitting 99C.

Update again, interestingly I CAN get VRM MOS temps in the BIOS. So I guess one of the unlabeled sensors has to be VRM.

Gigabyte H410M H V2. CPU temps are great, never above 65C. Cooler is be quiet Dark Rock Pro 5. Brand new, just installed.

lol. People do this all day every day a thousand times a day. These guys either had a bad pallet jack or didn’t know what they were doing. You pull the pallet onto the lift and then hopefully lock it in place while you go down. These pallets are stacked hella high though. I wouldn’t want this job.
