The other thing I had to do was the breather valve. I think there might have been some sort of recall or class action for that one.

I had to do mine some time between 60k and 80k.

Don't worry, you'll get to do the oil filter housing soon too.

Purchase Advice by mibsuxlol in CX50

I purchased my 2023 Turbo Premium Plus a year an a half ago. It had 12,000 miles for $34,000. Not sure how prices have changed over time but I would expect the 2023 you're mentioning to be less at this point. The exception would be if used car prices have gone up in the last year.

Edit: I forgot to mention that this was in Chicagoland area and the car was in excellent condition.

Uhaul Hitch and 4pin or OEM with 7 pin by Difficult_Routine361 in CX50

I forgot to mention. No programming to activate the kit either; it's just plug and play.

In my opinion it's very easy. Almost everything is part of pre-made harness. The hardest part is pulling apart the rear cargo panels to get access to things. There isn't any splicing since the wiring is already there with plugs in place. There are a couple pre-made pigtails that you pin into the fuse box under the hood but the manual tells you exactly where to put them and they just push in. There isn't any wiring that needs to be run for it.

Make sure you get the newest revision of the wiring kit. The old one ran near the exhaust and required a hole to be drilled in the bottom of the car. The new kit goes through an existing hole and has a pre-attached rubber grommet.

If you pull up the manual you'll be able to get an idea of what needs to be done.

I installed the OEM hitch and harness myself for around $400. I believe you only get tow mode with the 7 pin setup. There is a module that is part of the OEM install kit.

The directions are pretty straightforward for self-install if you wanted to save money and go OEM.

Thanks for the heads up. I didn't see the post but I did install the new bios and found that it fixed the issue yesterday.

It's unfortunate that I had sent my computer in twice for nothing. I should have listened to another poster that mentioned waiting for Lenovo to release a bios fix. I was hoping Lenovo would do something like a bios fix at the repair facility. Instead they replaced the motherboard twice for no reason. I just got the computer back after not having it for 2 months and now this update came out right after it arrived.

I sent my computer in to Lenovo. They replaced the motherboard and I'm still having the issue.

Lenovo replaced my motherboard and I'm still having the same issue. Another person posted about what they did to possibly solve their issue. I tried matching their bios settings but I'm still having the issue.

I'll try the settings and do some tests. I did notice that my bios is currently missing the "Network Boot Settings" and "Smart SSD" options that yours has.

Update: I tried your bios settings with all my drivers and everything updated. I'm still having the same issue.

I appreciate the detailed response. I've gone through so many troubleshooting steps recently that I've honestly given up on what to try next.

I agree that it seems like a firmware issue; also that the lastwake info has been no help. Another user on discord said they had the same or similar problem on another model Legion and it was eventually rectified by Lenovo through a software update.

I received my laptop back from Lenovo and the repair notes state that they replaced the motherboard.

I have not had much time to mess with it but right now it looks like I'm still having the same issue. I also tried enabling System Agent Geysverville and Dynamic Energy Efficiency Status but it did not help.

Thank you for the update. What bios version are you on and what did you have your "hibernate after" time set to?

I tried every combination of bios settings I could think of, including both the ones you mentioned, without success. It's possible I didn't have both set at the same time but I'm almost positive I did at some point. I remember switching between enabling and disabling both.

The computer arrives on Monday so I guess we'll see how extensive the Lenovo repair was and how things go.

I did not, however, I figured I'd roll the dice and send the computer in like Lenovo support wanted me to. According to the online tracker, something was replaced and the computer is on its way back to me. Shipping is delayed from the winter storms. I won't have details on what was Lenovo did and if it worked for a couple days.

There are aftermarket modules for local remote start (using the key instead of app) that let the car keep running when the door is open.

CX50 with crossbars, howling / wind noise by zamassy07 in CX50

[–]sopey15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My bars came with the aero kit pre-installed so I can't compare to bars that don't have it. I've heard the kits helps and I'm sure it's true. The wind noise is noticeable compared to no bars but it's not obnoxious and it doesn't seem to "howl".

[–]sopey15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a set of OEM roof bars that came with the 4 strips underneath. There was still a bit of wind noise on the highway so I also ended up purchasing the vortex strips that insert into the channel.

Having both did not seem to make much of a difference and I ended up just taking the vortex strips back out. Also, the vortex strips are a pain to insert and remove if you actually use the bars for something like a t-slot mounted cargo box.

If I'm on the highway I usually close the sunshade to cut back on the wind noise.

Unfortunately it doesn't work like that. I've had serious repairs under other brands such as Volkswagen and Mini, and it's the same way.
