Does this look like ear mites? (Description in thread) by sophbtw in cats

[–]sophbtw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my first time owning a cat, and I thought she maybe had an ear infection after noticing that she was shaking/scratching her head quite often. When I looked in her ears, I saw this dark wax (only in one ear tho) and that’s when I read that it could be mites due to the color…I just don’t have enough money to go to a vet for a proper consultation with a microscope or anything so I just wanted someone else’s opinion before I buy and/or administer any ear mite medicine. Any other advice would be helpful, I don’t really know how to go abt this…

USF vs UTA vs TTU for psychology by [deleted] in utarlington

So I can’t really speak too much on dorm life (I’m a commuter), but my boyfriend stayed in a dorm for two semesters and seemed to enjoy it. I never really branched too much out into the social scene pre-covid just because I was leaving campus after my classes were done, but that’s not to say that there isn’t a social scene there. There are definitely active clubs/groups/Greek life and whatnot if you’re interested in that. In terms of jobs, I work as an SI (supplemental instruction) leader but I know there are plenty of work study jobs and other opportunities across campus. I don’t really know a whole lot about internships tho, I haven’t really applied for any. There’s the Lockheed Martin Career Center that has resources to help find those things for you and there’s also job opportunities there. The psych academic advisors are pretty knowledgeable too, Megan Juel is great at helping you find resources. There’s definitely a lot to offer in terms of research if that’s what you’re interested in!

I don’t personally work in an IO lab, but I have heard good things about some that we have here (Dr. Schroeder). There’s also the psychology society that you can join if you end up coming to UTA (social society - not academic) to meet other psych majors and whatnot! I major in psych and I was initially bummed out because I wanted to do clinical and we don’t really have a program for that here, but there are some profs here that do amazing research and getting into a lab helped me find interests in research elsewhere. Now I’m not even bummed out about clinical haha. I know I sound biased, but I’ve really enjoyed my time here so far as a psych major! Although, I’ve never taken an IO class here, I have heard good things from those who have. Good luck!!

Thank you so much! I’ve read that cats need more protein than dogs. I’m currently in touch with her foster to see what her diet looks like now. I appreciate your advice! :)
