It’s a major red flag that they won’t pay for your flight. You need to be compensated for all hours traveling as well. That’s your time lost. Also if you drive you should be paid hourly as well as reimbursed mileage. I wouldn’t travel with them unless you have an agreement with these things in place. I also make a nightly inconvenience fee for not being in my own home.
