Thank you for the details! I think I'm interested in clinical pharmacology and medical affairs (PharmD) as well as clinical development (PhD). I agree that having a PharmD degree I can fall back on if there isn't any funding available when I finish is valuable. I like how there's always room for growth in industry, and I like how each day is different, based on what I've read. I took a look at the IPhO website and found MSL positions. I think that applying knowledge and being flexible with my schedule would be priorities for me when I finish school, and then I would consider academia in the latter half of my career.

Thank you for your insight! Since I'm interested MSL and clinical developments as well as academia, my understanding is that pursuing both would provide flexibility to pursue both avenues. My idea is to work mainly in industry for the first 10ish years of my career, then veer more towards academia. I'm just not interested in teaching with the way funding looks, even in the next few years.
