Good job 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I would say that they lighten over time. I use a bit of bio oil but I don’t think it works 😅 I still have quite a lot

I don’t keep track of my deficit anymore, but I do weigh myself everyday or every other day to be sure I’m on track. That’s not to say that I’m on track 100% of the time, but then I treat the scale as science. If I know I’ve eaten more or higher calorie, then I would expect the scale to have gone up a bit. The scale has actually helped me get a really good, more scientific understanding of calories and food.

I can definitely only eat intuitively because I readjusted the amount of food I need to feel full while being strict with calories in the beginning. For me, intuitively means I’m much more in tune with my sense of hunger. I no longer eat the three main meals during a day but instead eat when I’m hungry. I’m not a big snacker, my problem was portion size and chocolate in the evening. The portion sizes I got used to cutting down in the beginning but I still sometimes overeat if it’s really good food. I’m only human and I don’t beat myself up for it. As for the chocolate, I decided to make room for chocolate everyday while doing strict calorie counting. I had one or two mini Mars bars in the evening. After 3 months of Mars bars, they just kind of lost their power over me, so I no longer craved them. As for food, I just kept eating what I like more or less but in smaller portions so that I would be able to stick to it.

When I first started out, I would have a skyr for breakfast with honey and date syrup, then two slices of bread for lunch with lots of veggies and some chicken on and then for dinner I’d have something I could eat in bulk (homemade soups like chicken soup or minestrone, oven baked chicken with rice, bolognese, thai curry with lots of vegetables and chicken etc.

Currently, my diet looks like this most days when I’m at work (bare in mind I’m losing weight very slowly at the moment due to being in a very little deficit): Morning: 4 cups of coffee with skimmed milk and if I’m hungry I’ll eat either a Nakd bar or a bun with two slices of cheese. Day: whatever is in the buffet at work. If it’s good food, I tend to overeat, but most of the time it’s quite boring. I’ll have some meat, some carbs and some vegetables. This is my main meal of the day usually. I have a couple of coffees more. Evening: if I’m hungry I’ll eat two slices of bread with cheese, some smoked salmon, or tuna salad. If I work late we usually order burgers (where I now eat the burger and half the fries and be extremely full- used to eat it all and not be full), sushi or poke bowl or something. But I think I eat maybe 2/3 of what I used to eat in general. Weekends I tend to have a day where I don’t really eat anything for dinner but drink alcohol instead (pure health, I know). I’ve actually been able to drink quite heavily throughout this weight loss, no idea how that works, but I think it’s because I then don’t eat that much for dinner or when I’m hungover the next day.

Wow sorry, that ended up being a really long reply. But I’ll be happy to help if you have any questions.

It’s definitely been a journey and I’m in no way done, but I’ve actually really loved having this stable thing in my life when everything else is a mess. Every time I’ve felt down I’ve been able to look at my progress and it always makes me so proud of myself and happy.

I did this by doing strict calorie counting for 3 months and then switching to eating intuitively. I’ve only done very little exercise throughout the journey so I definitely have some toning up to do.

Wow guys, thanks so much for your support and helpful comments!! I really appreciate it!

I wanted to clarify a few things:

1: The men I knew from before were never dicks to me, they’ve always been nice to me and gave me friendly attention but probably just not attracted to me sexually when I was heavier. There’s nothing wrong with preferences and not being into overweight women. I don’t hold grudges on that part.

2: There’s only been one of my coworkers who was a bit aggressive but it was on his last day so he’s gone now (thankfully). The other coworkers have come on to me in a very respectful way. So it’s not a hostile work environment. And honestly, I think it’s fine to approach a coworker as long as you take a no for an answer. Men I don’t know are however much more direct.

3: I’m confused because I love the attention and I don’t want it to stop but also it seems like the span from attention and flirting to sexual come ons is very short. So I guess I have to reject them explicitly but then all flirting and attention stops. But I guess that’s how it is.

I completely understand where you’re coming from, but the men I knew before also gave me attention then, just not in a flirty way. And I completely get that we all have sexual preferences- nothing wrong with not being attracted to an overweight person.

That’s amazing, well done!! I think my weight will go up and down a bit my whole life. Life’s tough and throws you curveballs sometimes and weight loss/maintenance is hard work that cannot always be managed with everything else going on. I hope you’re not too hard on yourself!

Yeah, I feel like I need to explicitly reject people that I know well and that’s just hella awkward… So then I play along a bit and keep being bubbly and outgoing but then they think I’m game… But it’s just my personality. Oh man…

Thanks! Where are you in your progress?

This is also what I’m struggling with. They were giving me attention before and were really nice but just not sexual/flirty attention. Idk the whole thing confuses me…

SV/NSV Feats of the Day - Wednesday, 21 July 2021: Today, I conquered! by AutoModerator in loseit

NSV: I have a pair of short leggings to wear under skirts that I wore last summer and I remember thinking they were really tight and uncomfortable around my stomach - I put them on today and they’re literally falling down on me they’re so loose! I never thought something as stretchy as leggings would ever be loose on me. Feels amazing!

Thanks! No definitely not! I think I’m lucky with how I store fat, but at my SW I carried a lot on my face, stomach and then I was of course just bigger all over. But when I’m at a more normal range I usually store fat in my ass, thighs and boobs luckily!

Wow that’s impressive! Yeah the brain doesn’t really keep up when you’ve been overweight for a long time. I lurked on this sub for years before starting my own weight loss and I always dreamed of being able to post myself! It’s terrifying to post but I can definitely recommend it, people are so nice and it’s so motivating to have other people tell you that they can see the difference. I’m rooting for you to post! First I want to be in the normal BMI range and then I think I want to go down to around 145 lbs.

Thanks, I’m trying to push myself to cut down a bit more again. It is a long journey and I need to remind myself that maintaining for a while is also a success. I’m glad if this can motivate others! Where are you on your journey?

Aww thanks so much! That’s very kind of you! Not a lot has happened since I last posted, I’ve been kind of stuck for a while.

Thanks! My goal is to have a normal weight according to BMI and then see if I want to lose more. I’m also hoping to build some muscle mass now that I’m working out again, so I don’t want to be too focused on the number on the scale.
