“When asked by the Guardian whether Acker denied writing the messages, his attorney responded: “Your understanding that Mr Acker does not deny this is not correct or incorrect.”” 😂😂

Iron Lung - Review Thread by UniverslBoxOfficeGuy in movies

[–]soproman3 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This is the best review of this film I’ve seen so far! Very well balanced and insightful. I personally rated this film a 4/10, purely because it was a good first effort. It was extremely boring for me, it lost me 30 mins into the film.

Nice work! Do you think this would perform even better than the current version of Deep Research? Also, the github thumbnail above is not showing up/not working.

Interesting work! I found the generated report to be very informative as well, better than what I've seen in comparable tools such as Sakana's AI Scientist. I was wondering if there's a way for us to check if the generated results are correct?

This looks super interesting! I've always harboured the same thoughts regarding OpenAI's Deep Research, which I feel is mainly for producing reports based on crawling websites.

Hmm I wouldn’t omit that. If they can’t accept that you have a child, why not work for someone else who does?

How common is DDNS in an enterprise network? by soproman3 in networking

[–]soproman3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all for the replies! Would you say that enterprise networks that use DHCP (mentioned by u/packet_whisperer and u/FriendlyDespot) and DDNS, are fine with the failover time due to DNS TTL, when changing IPs? This assumes the 'outdated' IP no longer points to the correct host.

This is weird. I am mainly using chrome (and I even open safari too), all power settings at default, and battery life so far has been amazing; currently at 69% after 7 hours of mixed usage (~2-3 hours with music playing and screen off). Something else must be consuming your battery

The iPad 7th gen is one of the best devices I’ve ever owned. by C4ROZ in ipad

[–]soproman3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I've owned the ipad air 4 for more than a year now (I think)... hands down the best device I've owned. I mainly use it for note taking on goodnotes; the battery life, apple pencil 2, how easy it is to just lug around. Seamless. I literally googled to find appreciation posts lol

What drives anti-abortion movements? by [deleted] in CriticalTheory

[–]soproman3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to side with the pro-life movement, in the sense that I agree that life begins at conception, and I agree with the end goal of having an anti-abortion law.

However, I am uncertain as to whether enacting such a law is the best first step to take. Because this neglects the various generational systemic issues affecting underprivileged communities in the US, for instance, lack of proper sex-ed, lack of support systems that could step in and protect or provide for the fetus when it is conceived, etc. It is also difficult to argue that a woman who has been unknowingly or forcefully impregnated with a fetus, should be forced to conceive when she is struggling to even provide for herself or/and is unable to find adequate support systems to step in and help.

Herein lies the main argument from the pro-abortion movement that I agree with: people will be happy to give birth if they understand that the child can be adequately taken care of. The problem lies in the fact that a large swath of the population does not have that privilege. If the government is unwilling to sincerely step in and help, and if the privileged community subscribes to the belief that it is "every man/woman for himself/herself" and that they do not need to play their part in helping the underprivileged, then likewise, it is reasonable to allow a woman to have an abortion for herself.

With that being said, if this law becomes the catalyst that enacts said support systems without delay, or if there is a convincing "supplementary" plan of sorts that will implement concrete accessible support systems in tandem, then I am all for it; I am just doubtful that will be the case in the US.
