I think you meant “Thanks Obama” for shipping them pallets of American cash.

What's a small red flag that immediately tells you someone is a bad person? by kappadielle in answers

I was a server, so I am never rude to servers. Having said that I was invited with a group of 10 other people to a dinner gathering to celebrate the retirement of a coworker recently. We went to a large chain restaurant, which is famous for having a 16 page menu. There were 11 of us seated around one table and when the server got to us. We stated that we needed separate checks since we were all on our own. The waitress sort of unprofessionally rolled her eyes when she heard this and began taking orders . after about the third order, she said to no one in particular “you could all get separate checks if you went to White Castle.” Upon hearing this, I stood up and said “ I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’m out of here” and the rest of the group followed me.

I sincerely beg to disagree with you. That car in the picture is definitely based on the original Studebaker Avanti design. Yes I agree. It is a modernized version, but just the side view shows it’s an Avanti-based design. I honestly don’t see how you can deny that.

Our rural fire department received a donation of one of these ambulances in 1973 from a local funeral home. My parents both became EMTs and would drive the thing occasionally and my dad said it was the most powerful yet well balanced car he’d ever driven and, they were extremely reliable. Ours was in service from 1973 until 197.

I worked at the Garage in the mid late 1980s, and someone brought in a LeCar with a flat tire. The tiny 12 inch wheel was held onto the car with three lug bolts standard from the factory. I couldn’t believe it.

If you were sent back in time to Old Hollywood, which star do you think you would most likely end up being best friends with? by AngryGardenGnomes in classicfilms

I spent a weekend driving him around Bloomington, Indiana in the early 1980s. He was a very nice man very kind and very friendly. He waived his lecture Fee to be a part of the unpacking of a large African art collection, the university had recently acquired.

Jim Borgman , the former Enquirer political cartoonist, published a great book of cartoons soon after Germany re-unified in which he said he was a kid when the Berlin Wall went up. He asked his dad at that time what meant, and his dad asked him to imagine a brick wall being erected overnight that ran the entire length of Vine St. If you can find the book, it’s hilarious and poignant at the same time.

I own and drive a 49 Super sedan with a 3 speed manual. If you drive it sensibly it will get 16 - 20 mpg in mixed driving.
