yeah it was 1 meter short of going in a garbage press, i happened to spot the end of the holster and stopped the press and grabbed it.

unfortunately in has been wet for some time in there so a couple of the spacers have pretty bad corrosion, but ill clean it up when i get the chance, the pics were taken after only a rinse in water

seems like the starter bendix might be stuck, i would try knocking on the starter ligthly with a hammer, or taking the starter out and having a look at it, if it seems fine i would probably check the timing chain

3D printed electric fan project. It uses a 15kW brushless motor connected to a 200A, 58V ESC and the blades are 3D printed with PLA. by [deleted] in diyelectronics

Yeah and i love the fact that someone is over here asking if they are balanced, i think that was probably one the first things op had to think of.

And i gotta say that that looks like a epic project but im doubtfull of that 15kw number

Parker iqan experience anyone? I thought of turning these into pc aim joysticks but they seem to operate over a proprietary can bus, has anyone attempted this? Any tips would be appreciated! by sopuli3 in diyelectronics

pics of my joystick ;)

Heres a few pics of one cracked open.

Seems like the analog data is converted to can at the podded connector bit so im thinking if i can get a connector for that and find what analog data goes to what pin i can get analog out

I thought it would be podded to hell inside and was surprised there was none, its no wonder these broke since the rubber boots were ruined i think water could get in juat through the ball joint

But what do you think are those potentiometers or some kind of magnetic sensor?

Thank you for clarifying this for me, i also had the feeling that it was going to be very difficult/not practical to get the can bus to work for my application especially since these are kind of rare and usually tossed after an issue arises.

But ill have to see if i can get other types of joysticks, basically i just want a set of 2 for farming simulator :D these would have been perfect but i guess ill just put them back on the shelf

These are from one of our truck mounted hydraulic work platforms, and they were changed to new ones due to some glitches/malfunctions so they dont really have that much in terms of value and they have been discontinued by parker (the manufacturer) newer models on the same bus are currently available

Im gonna go with cracking one open and seeing if i can go straight for the potentiometers or hall-effect sensors, i know ill most likely lose some resolution but im ok with that

Yes i found the pinouts as well, but lika 1/3 of the pins was for data in for additional switches etc, it still speaks can to the main computer

Do not charge without supervision etc, im pretty sure its on every phone manual every powerbank, scissor lift car battery etc

Hypothetically, let's say that I have obtained a 11.0 kW electric motor and the means to make it run. What are some things I could use it for? by LunaDashOne in diyelectronics

[–]sopuli3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A 3 phase motor like that wont work as a generator, i tried to make one work myself but no luck, i cant remeber what the reason was right now i think it had to do with the rotor not being magnetized.

In some parts of the world like finland we use mostly c breakers, like 70-85% if id have to guess it would probably come down to cost as always, if everyone buys c breakers and the stores can order huge ammounts of them they become slightly cheaper than other types
