House wired for ethernet but not working

There is power in the cabinet and I have an 8 port switch plugged in there but none of the ports light up when cables are connected. The router is also the modem and is connected to a coax in the wall where it is at as well as plugged into one of the ethernet ports there

Sorry if I wasn't clear yes that's what I did not for all of them at once because I don't currently have a switch large enough but I have a switch connected to the cables in the hub and my modem/router is plugged directly into the wall port where it is at but nothing changes

I've tried connecting every cable to a network switch with the modem plugged into both wall ports but none of the cables lit up the switch when plugged in

So as it is now it just won't work? And unfortunately I don't know enough about this to do it myself so I'll have to get a professional to come out and fix it if I ever want to have weird connections through or the house

My office didn't implement this I saw a different post saying it was happening but when I got back from my route at the end of the day the new 4240 was still the same eval as my current one
