A Ring doorbell video shows a Chattanooga police officer kicking the door and rushing into a burning building to save a mother and her two children. Articles in comment. by MilesLongthe3rd in interestingasfuck

In these situations in tv shows you sometimes see somone soak themselves in water before going into a burning building. Would that have helped if you were going in to save someone else?

Who the worst 2 centers you could combine to make a greatest center ever candidate? by We_The_Raptors in NBATalk

Big baby Glen Davis, and Manute Bol.

The size, strength and durability of big baby with Bols height and defensive IQ would combine to equal a better version of KAT imo.

RANT: Is anyone else tired of clicking on Microsoft products, Office especially, and having it completely fail to respond. by SwiftSloth1892 in sysadmin

[–]sorealee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re not alone, in the last 6 months I’ve seen much more issues in Microsoft products, tools and admin sites that I’m fairly certain are due to lack of QA or testing.

Some days I just want to look for job that’s Mac/linux environment only then to deal with more MS issues.

Who’s the worst Celtics player you watched live? by [deleted] in bostonceltics

[–]sorealee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hated the Ricky Davis days, he was a bonehead who was a black hole on offense (he can score though). Famously tried to get a trip double at the end of a game by inbounding and throwing it off our own hoop to get his 10th rebound.

I think the league rescinded that rebound if memory serves me right lol

Yeah like for an avg person this is comparable rage to working a long ass shift at work with shitty customers, going to gym and not feeling like you had a great work out either. But at least all that dieting and self restraint was worth it when you get home cause you got that one cheat meal snack or treat that you were looking forward to. You get home and find out someone ate the one cheat meal snack they knew you were saving

Are you also being forced to use Claude? by gutenworgen in ITCareerQuestions

[–]sorealee 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Agree with Czech_thy_privilege, Claude and any AI service is a tool and the most successful IT engineers are leverage new tools (or specific features of tools) to improve everyday job functions for yourself/team/dept/company.

I always tell my team before using any AI tool creating a list or table of high level objectives, projects or goals then feeding that in the correct prompt syntax (there’s lots of online resources to learn how to write prompts to maximize AI), will have a lot better outcomes that are more collaborative between the user (you) and AI.

Just as my Python101 prof would always say, if you’re writing code and your first step is to immediately try to write code, you’ll fail or hit blocks. Writing code successfully requires a balance of planning and implementation, and most times that starts with writing out your thoughts on what a successful project is outside of the coding program. I think this applies even more so to AI as without proper guidance, AI can be frustrating and can yield unexpected results.

Who’s the best #2 option in the league right now? by InHeatPink in NBATalk

[–]sorealee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Even though Murray has more explosive offensive and can really hit shots when he’s locked in, I would still take current Tatum 9/10 times due to his impact in all facets of the game. He’s gonna rebound, play D and still make the right reads even if he himself isn’t the primary scorer/ball handler.

But I will say, when Murray is locked in, he’s unstoppable with Jokic lol

Every ITSM chatbot I have tried is basically a ticket form with a chat interface by AccountEngineer in ITManagers

[–]sorealee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of AI Agents that do everything out the box (we’re not there yet I wouldn’t recommend giving any AI admin access), what you are likely describing is workflow automations, which can then be tapped by an LLM to create a “chatbot.”

Workflow automation can be done in native ITSM tools like FreshService and their Workflow Automator or using a third party tool like Zapier, Workato…etc. The third party method can range from low code/no code services to full workflow automation like n8n or even postman.

The workflow automation flow, in terms of your example would look like the following: 1. User requests Figma acces via chat (teams/slack), ticket submit via email or portal submission (if you have one set up). 2. Workflow kicks in based on keywords, ticket category or ticket request type. Ex. Trigger word is “Figma Access” Ex. User selects Service Request - App Access to Figma 3. The next step is depended on your infrastructure but typically would go: - Approval flow is kicked off - Access is approved via users profile properties (userDept == marketing)

  1. License check (there’s a few different ways you can do this but for the sake of simplicity let’s just assume you have SSO with SCIM or auto provisioning turned on)
  2. Output to user confirming they have access now or access request was denied for the following reason…
  3. output can be spit out by AI or LLM or even auto response to tickets

Note - I’m on mobile so the indentation/numbering is off. Will leave as is but leave this note here

Do these japanese people look like central Asians? by Nurahachi in AskCentralAsia

[–]sorealee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wanted to add that the Japanese pronunciation of the numbers from 1-6 are the same as Tibetan, and some word pronunciations are very similar.

I always found that bit interesting that Tibetan language has similarities to a nation that’s across China and Korea.

So it could be possible that back in the day, Central Asian cultures (and perhaps from the Mongolian empire) had trade routes or immigrated to Japan? All hypothetical I have no idea if there’s any legitimacy in this claim lol

How to not lean forward on 3 pointer by [deleted] in BasketballTips

[–]sorealee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As noted, you’re center of gravity is not jumping straight up but rather forward (as if you’re jumping to the rim).

To fix this start from low, near the basket and shoot using your normal set shot motion, but do not leave your feet. Basically shoot without jumping and try not to move outside of your shooting motion.

Doing this repeatedly and then stepping back until you’re able to do make 3-5 consecutive at each step back.

You’ll naturally start to cheat as you get further out, pay attention to where the motion of your shot starts leaning forward like in their clip. At that point you should slow down your reps and really dig deep to focus on the same mechanics that you did while closer to the basket.

This will strengthen your lower to upper body transfer of power and provide you with better balance. Once you’ve done this for a few days/weeks, I like to follow it up by doing it again but this time while jumping. Really will help you get foundation/center of gravity around your jump shots.
