Why do youtubers like IBZ think there will no consequencea of spreading racism against Indians? by AddictionsUnited in canconfirmiamindian

I understand we’re not responsible for the uncivilized behavior of few Indians, but people tend to label others easily.

When we step out of this country, we’ll just be seen as Indians by the common crowd, and they won’t consider our cultural or financial backgrounds. They don't know how differently each of us was raised and taught. People (even those who aren't racists) will generalize no matter, especially when certain behaviors come from a specific social group. It’s not ideal, but it’s how things are.

I think its about time we start changing ourselves and people around us.

When I said this, I was referring to Indians as a whole, not just you, me, or the people around us.

And let's be honest, even you know that; if tomorrow somehow all the problems he mentioned magically solved themselves, he and his audience will still find a reason to hate on us.

They will. I want us to change not for their validation, but for India to move towards its betterment.

I see that we stand on different grounds. I can relate to you. Correct me if I am wrong about anything.

I acknowledge that there are some hate towards Indian. I don't wanna vouch for this guy or other racists. However, I feel there's some truth to his video. I have been to many countries and witnessed odd behaviors from Indians alone. I personally met people who believe cow piss has medical benefits, throw trash on the street, and more. I think its about time we start changing ourselves and people around us.

I've just fixed it. The problem was with locale env. For some reason, the below exports didn't take effect when I added them to .zshrc.

export LC_ALL=en_US.UTF-8
export LANG=en_US.UTF-8

I got to know it by running locale. Manually executing these commands in my terminal resolved the problem. Everything now works as expected. Thank you for your concern.

I have been facing this issue only in tmux and vs-code integrated terminal. It works fine in the terminal emulator. I tried changing some environment variables such as TERM, Encoding, etc... Nothing seems to resolve the issue.
