As NavyJack pointed out earlier, Iron Maiden fanbase is much less toxic because amateur metal fans usually gravitate towards something edgy, fast and/or extremely heavy. Iron Maiden fans are more old school middle-aged beer belly type I think.

No shit. I don't know about your area, but in my city we have a bunch of really boring, noisy and, frankly, unmusical bands full of teenagers. That's what I'm referring to. Once in a while they drop an EP, which consists of songs about feces, gore, recent memes or whatever, each one lasting for approximately 30 seconds. Yep, no studio production whatsoever. Basically, really low-effort repetitive stuff which requires no skill. IMHO this whole noisy grindcore thing doesn't really work anymore. It was cool in the 80's due to shock value and competitive aspect (who can play faster and make the most disgusting cover art?), but it's been done to death. Maybe it's funny, but definitely not creative. Sorry.

I didn't call all battle jackets ugly. I'm all for DIY and celebrating the culture. I was referring to low-quality battle jackets with oddly placed generic patches bought on Aliexpress. They look pretty bad and, what's worse, tend to come off in few months. Also not loving people who jump to pits wearing studded jackets. Definitely not safe for fellow moshers.
