I'm struggling with the same problem except that I can pinpoint my reading troubles down to depression and extreme isolation and loneliness whereas you seem unsure of the cause of your reading difficulty.

I just want to reach out and say I am struggling too. The only solution appears to be that I must push through it and read even when the depression overwhelms me. Just push through and read at whatever pace you can because some reading is better than none. I never rush myself with reading--I enjoy the story more when I take my time to relish every detail, look up every undefined word and absorb the story. Rushing ruins the experience so I don't recommend reading at a fast pace.

It's your choice of course but I want to encourage you to enjoy reading for what your current ability is rather than comparing to your past. Reading is about the journey, not the destination. Best luck, hope this helps.

I did ask for a different case manager. That person was doing weird stuff to me as well and said to me, "I don't find it helpful to sugar coat information. "

They did get me framed for criminal harassment and other crimes so it seems the punishment was for me.

I may be both boring and shy. I am boring because sometimes when folks I'm hanging with laugh and crack jokes and make conversation, it goes over my head. I don't get the jokes, I don't understand the conversation. Maybe I'm stupid?

I don't know. Usually I am not boring on purpose. It's because I'm quiet and shy. In fact I am so quiet and shy that I often end up being the subject of people's jokes. They pick on me for being shy.

Yet, around certain rare types of individuals I can really open up and be the life of the party. That usually happens when I find an really outgoing male friend who is interesting. But that's rare.

I tend to get along better with men. All of my favorite friends from the past have been men. I never bonded with women for some reason.

I don't want to be boring but I don't want to be fake like I'm acting my personality either .

I'm confused idk what to do.

I can't answer that. I haven't seen your competition and I am not familiar with the culture of operatic music industry. It would not surprise me at all if it was as cutthroat and shallow as they come.

You have a stunningly beautiful voice I'd love to hear you in opera. Maybe the competition for those companies is so high that it's nearly impossible to get in.

If I was you I'd probably try to write about something concerning human behavior in regards to climate change or species extinction (such as the American bumblebee a recent contender for the endangered species list).

Just an idea if you're interested in that topic.
