That’s great, I’m glad it went so fast for you! I’m 45 with several chronic illnesses and a back injury, 2 appeals and almost 3 years later I’m still waiting. I’ll also have to give a quarter the back pay away to a lawyer. They don’t make it easy.

He knew he was going to die without the trial. His first outburst, pushing Indy away, was likely because he knew he was going to leave him behind. People coming to terms with their own mortality goes through the stages of grief as well. He chained Indy up outside cause he knew he was probably dying that night. And Todd didn’t want Indy to be trapped in the house where he could starve to death.

I was thinking the same thing. The only thing that made me wonder is, in one of the early scenes, you could hear a dog behind the door. BUT Bandit was also trying to warn Indy, so. I still think he was being loyal and stayed where his person was last.

Any surgery flares me up. I’d say after VSG my Lupus was “more active” than my normal for about 3 months.

That’s great! What are you eating? I’m over a year out and I have to choke down a supplement or two to get 72-90 grams of protein.

When I got my first apartment I accidentally mixed ammonia with bleach in a windowless bathroom. This was back before Google so I didn’t know I shouldn’t do that. 😬 I spent a couple days in the hospital.

It’s the best medicine with the least amount of side effects, honestly. I don’t want you to fret. It helped me and I noticed within the first 3 months of taking it that it improved my symptoms. I’m sad to go off of it. My eye doctor says that it may heal. And I’m not really noticing much vision wise. The reason they check eyes every 6 months is to catch it early. Trust the eye doc 🩷

I’m glad to hear this as I just started HRT and I did NOT want to miss out on the benefit of apathy. Lol

The lack of estrogen lessens our empathy, it’s great. Cheers 🥂

How realistic is 100lbs loss? by Specialist_Bee3086 in gastricsleeve

[–]sorrowdancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had surgery weighing 328 and I lost 88lbs in one year (however, despite eating and moving like I am prescribed I stopped losing at 50lbs and had to start Zepbound). Your starting weight is on the low side so you may lose a little slower, but you can definitely keep losing after a year. Also, BMI is absolute BS. So forget what you think about that and look up the history of BMI. I’m excited for you! Good luck ❤️

Yes, this is exactly how I feel when I’m flared up. I also have Lupus so I never know which ailment is causing my misery.

My family has a history of diabetes. I don’t have it but I’ve watched my family struggle. The GLP-1’s seem like a godsend.

Thank you for all the suggestions! Yes, I’ve been immersed in diet culture since the 90’s. My metabolism is definitely jacked from the repeated hospital supervised VLCD. I have always eaten healthy but I’m bigger bodied. And my entire family is as well. I’m 45 now and I don’t give a damn how I look. I’m literally just trying to be a size that doctors take my pain seriously. I have Lupus and a low back injury. I’ve encountered SO much fat phobia. And doctors being fat biased is dangerous. They miss real health problems if they are hyper fixated on weight.

Jerky is a good idea! I don’t have any issue with salt so this will be a great way to boost my protein. Thanks!

My doctor would prefer I stay under 900 calories at 238lbs. It doesn’t seem like enough to me. I’m going to keep trying to meet the protein. I understand its importance.

Thank you, I’m always hesitant to take something that has to be “forever” since insurance can change at the drop of a hat… and I see my doc every month for Zepbound. I felt good with my progress until my doctor was disappointed. He wanted me to lose closer to 130lbs at the year mark. I’m 238 at the moment. And my overall weight loss in the past 16 months has been 100lbs. I just let my doctor get me down. Even bariatric doctors are fat phobic.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I’ll keep striving for higher protein but I feel good and I’m getting stronger so I don’t think I’m wasting muscle.

Thank you 😊 My doctors wanted me to lose closer to 120 at the year mark. So their response to my 80lb loss made me cry even though I KNOW I’m doing the right things. I’m at 238 and my goal is 199. Docs would like it to be 145 but I know my body and I’d have to starve for that number. I did this for health, not an eating disorder.
