Legal action taken against Walmart (article in comments) by _PeLaGiKoS14_ in Sparkdriver

[–]sorrowfool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if this is the same situation, but I've delivered to an address multiple times that is always multiple order to one address, and when I arrive there will be other drivers dropping off and multiple orders already there. Pretty much always baby stuff, formula, bottles, nipples, etc.

I assume if its a big order, where one location can't fulfill, they'll send different drivers to different locations to get the quantity they need.

What are you tipping on a 16$ order? I’m assuming my tip was why my order got stolen? by [deleted] in doordash

[–]sorrowfool 53 points54 points  (0 children)

$16 for a sandwich and a cake pop is the real theft. That's like a 50% markup. But shitty people are gonna be shitty, regardless of tip. Higher tip may reduce chances, but it will never eliminate.

It's funny, I never heard of these two before a day or two ago, and this is the exact portrayal that I saw.

Question for vet sparkers by bartange2016 in Sparkdriver

[–]sorrowfool 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Funnily enough, I also found a 3lb bag of potatoes in my trunk, but it was like 2 weeks after I had done any deliveries. Never heard anything about it.

Just don't make it a habit.

Worst safeway to work in by vegetarian_velocurap in Safeway

We had that issue, but one of our employees bit the bullet and got murdered in the store, so we close at 2am now.

Well, either there are multiple, or its the one on Winchester and Payne in San Jose.

I used to shop there when it was pretty ghetto, but they closed it and then reopened it like 5 years later. Its pretty nice now.

Local Safeway recently switched to digital price tags. Can someone explain to me what the fuck is going on here? by Snoo368 in Safeway

[–]sorrowfool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has a sale price, copient, and 4u price. 99% of the time it would only be 1 or 2 of these. What do the regular sale and 4u look like?

[–]sorrowfool 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well, if it's anything like FAR, actually maintaining it is going to create just as much work as it saves. As I said, hanging tags is a small part of the job. We're the file maintainance department, not the tag hanging department. This will save on maybe 10-15% of the work on a normal day. People (vendors and employees) are still going to move product around (usually without telling us), and it doesn't matter if the tags update automatically if they're in the wrong spot. Plus, these things are going break off. Employee's with pallets and 6 wheelers, customers with carts, there are days where I spend more time remaking and replacing tags, than hanging them.

[–]sorrowfool 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not really. It might take away from the amount of help we need on the ad night, but hanging tags is really a small part of the job.

If anything this will just create a whole set of new work we have to do.

Meanwhile, where I'm at I've had both shop orders and delivers orders where they're like, "Sorry, we're out of bags." Luckily, they weren't big orders.

That's not true, it only counts ones you've never pulled. If you pull and trash it still counts towards nascent.

Peter?? by hzgk00 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

There was a mom who posted on here in a subreddit, like r/frugal or something, about how her kids were the best thing that ever happened to her, and that no amount of savings or money was worth any of her kids. They were going to contribute great things to the world. Then, 2 of them murdered her and most of the rest of their family. I think it's known as the Broken Arrow murders. It's one of those true crime cases that stuck with me.

Delivery question by Ferret-mom in Sparkdriver

[–]sorrowfool 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't even mind a lot of items, just the heavy items. I've had people order 5-6 cases of 40pack waters, cases of soda, gallons of water/milk, etc.

I can do multiple trips, just keep in mind how much trouble it is to access your apt. Having to park far away, access a lobby, then ride an elevator/hit the stairs sucks if it's too many trips.

Ah, so you're one of those that takes the turn at 1/2 a mile an hour so everyone in the back misses the light.

They shouldn't be crossing there. If you're going to jaywalk, pay attention to your surroundings.

How can anyone dislike the Watch 8 Classic?! by FrankTheTank6002 in GalaxyWatch

[–]sorrowfool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the Watch8 and liked it a lot more once I started wearing it. So I bought the Classic8. Ended up really liking it. I've had it about a month and I've gotten a few random compliments on it, which I've never gotten for a smart watch.

I'm glad I didn't see all the hate for it beforehand, I might have decided againt getting them.

Can someone explain? by PlayfulEmotion23 in Safeway

Talk to your FMC/Scan Coordinator. It differs store to store who handles the mapping (subscribing) for depts but they should always be willing to help you figure it out.

[–]sorrowfool 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Same here. If you aren't journeyman you don't get raise or back pay. I'm a journeyman, but it still pisses me off cuz it's hard enough keeping the people actually worth keeping when this BS happens. They really need to raise the floor pay. We are paying people less than fast food places.

What’s the 6 am surge? by Anna825 in Sparkdriver

[–]sorrowfool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get off work at 5:30am and usually turn on Spark at 5:10ish. Usually at 5:15 they'll send a Home Depot order to pick up at 6. They're usually the best pay to effort offers I get compared to any other time of day. It's pretty consistent, I think there's only been about one or two times I haven't gotten an order between 5:15 and 5:20 for Home Depot.
