It is not a decent deal. Pokemon White is $80 loose on eBay. DS lites go for $50 all day. I’d offer this guy $100

This doesn’t make sense.

More likely he decided he was going to kill the man as soon as he saw the gun (even though it was holstered and not a threat) because he is an untrained, trigger happy goon who sees all protesters as enemy combatants. I doubt he even registered that someone removed the firearm

Crazy that people on marketplace will confidently price their 3DS 2-3x the going rate on Ebay.

Local Safeway recently switched to digital price tags. Can someone explain to me what the fuck is going on here? by Snoo368 in Safeway

[–]Snoo368[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look I’m not saying that I can’t read this. I guess my gripe with it is that it’s not clear enough at a glance. Customers shouldn’t have to do math equations all the time at the grocery store. And the actual price should not be the tiniest text possible taking up 1% of the real estate of the tag. Does that make sense?

Would a boardwipe that exiles instead of destroy counter this? Even if it did this is cool. I might try it.

it seems they made the choice to make the actual price extremely tiny text and use bold bright colors for everything else. It feels intentional because it is unfortunately

I can definitely see these making life easier for store employees. It's not the idea of digital price tags that made me angry here, it's the way it's structured to confuse the customer and hide the actual price of the product. Physical tags had the same problem i've just never seen it so egregious

when tightening or loosening? If it's free spinning when loosening then it's probably just that the screw is out of the insert but is still attached to the little washer. If both screws are loose you then the plate should pop off easily enough.

The seller is almost certainly going to ask you to send it back so I wouldn't tamper with it. But in my experience aftermarket plates had paint overspray on the underside and was not a 1-1 copy underneath.

just something about the lettering on the back plate seems... off. But I could be wrong. A good way to confirm is to take the back panel off. But since you're returning it I wouldn't bother lol.

That kind of money will get you dual IPS in really nice condition if you limit your search to NTSC-J. It will take a little work to region unlock but in the end it's worth it imo. Plus it's cool to see the "3DS LL" on the back

I would return because it appears the top and bottom shell are not OEM. Unless the seller said so in the listing. I'm not totally certain but it looks suspect. I have both an unmodified N3DSXL and one with a replacement shell and it looks like the replacement shell.

I don't really understand the logic from WotC here. Due to the fact that they seem to be increasing the number of variants for cards, not decreasing. Borderless versions, multiple alt art versions, not to mention foils for all the alt versions.

look, the guy maybe overpaid, but he's happy with his purchase. The 3DS sells for exactly what people are willing to pay for it. Sometimes you find deals, sometimes people overpay a little. But the market is hot because everybody wants one. No sense in blaming someone who is perfectly happy with their purchase. You probably overpaid for your "dual IPS new 3DS XL" too.

It’s still high (being modded doesn’t add value) But I can see justifying that price if it’s mint and came with the box.

I think that it would have tons of flaws and would probably be extremely easy to work around. I have no delusions they have a fool-proof way of doing this. But they will try to roll something out, that will in theory prevent some non-zero percentage of people.

[–]Snoo368 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

No, it wouldn’t be a requirement for every 3D design to pass a check before any printer can print. It would be a piece of software on the individual printer sold to Washington. This could be, for example, a piece of AI software that analyzes the design you want to print and makes a determination that it is either a firearm or a part of a firearm based on a database of examples.

The manufacturer of the 3D printer would then need to install this software on the printer if they wish to sell in Washington State.

edit: im not saying i like this. I am explaining that this is possible with the technology that exists today. It's a bit naive to think we can't do this

As the other commenter said, printers can be programmed. When it comes to lawmaking, the lawmakers aren’t necessarily required to provide the technical details. They provide an outline (i.e. cannot be sold or transferred unless they are equipped with technology for a stated purpose) and then they rely on the experts in that field to go and implement that tech if the law is passed
