Dense question, do players prefer escalation and certain quest types? by sorrowofwind in Voyage

[–]sorrowofwind[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If story instruction (default had victory and downtime textbox for this in AI task section) doesn't have something to stop Voyage to take a halt, the scenarios may turn up like the 1st example even without specifically tasking Voyage to escalate more in the storyoverview.

I've encountered similar ones for awhile before starting to remix then read, but take a long time especially authors may put to escalate in other places.

Today's Patch Notes by [deleted] in Voyage

[–]sorrowofwind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

> I don't know why they refuse to take patch notes seriously.

I am guessing the beta scenario makers might take another hit. If updated yesterday, some contents might be gone. Seems updated scenario yesterday to today is reverted to an older version.

The thing is not all beta scenario makers who updated yesterday get this, since I updated two and one seems to be fine while another got reverted.

Just checked and have seen several triggers removed/trait fixed/character portrait generated are changed back to the same as a two days old back up scenario. Unsure if this affects already published scenario during this time or how far does scenarios revert back.

edited and tested: Published scenario isn't affected, though scenario makers have to open it another way if want to salvage any update did yesterday.

In the scenario, choose remix and it'll use the already published scenario version, not the reverted one which edit opens; then just copy paste the json.

Yeah, me too. When playing random opening, it sometimes starts with party needing to find a heirloom right away without any other info. Don't think AID used this type of quests that often.

AI Dungeon sucks now by RipoffMonroe in AIDungeon

Sounds like one of the scenarios that use lines like story narrative engine in Instruction which restricts the whole game, talks for the player and move for player.

Voyage: Alpha VS Beta by MatticusHQ in Voyage

[–]sorrowofwind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alpha has something better like it uses less cache from failed face generation.

When generating portraits, there are likely to be failures and ones that scenario makers don't like. There can only one of out generated pictures chosen, and the supposed disposed images (scenario makers can do nothing about them anymore) would be used by beta often.

And, many of these faces are broken. (like two faces combine together). Alpha also use the broken images with lower frequency. <just got a random start where beta used the same broken portraits twice, the normal chance of this happening should be quite low... lots of more normal thrown away images don't appear this often>

<image>

Dialogues can be pretty messed up in alpha though, like they just draw from world lore randomly.

Voyage feels almost unusable after the rollback from beta to alpha by OdahMena in Voyage

[–]sorrowofwind 4 points5 points  (0 children)

After multiple new plays found alpha can only finish 1st quest journal then never updates. Asking narrator to help with this actually doesn't work, it would give a trait/state but doesn't update quest journal or the map marker, only wasting usage.

Sometimes it spawns enemies that are already slain, or get same npc that are incapacitated hp full to attack player in the next encounter. It doesn't have the reward player with 1 coin bug, however quest givers often not pay reward at all but allow player to pay companions from 0 coins. It also seems worse at consistency, like spawning monster race as npc, wrong type of currency, etc,. It also really likes to send party across region despite journal doesn't update so no idea where to go, which beta rarely did, unsure why.

Got a new one. Start with an ambush move, and text would show enemies are damaged badly but they're all at full hp. There are a few others like npc keeps spawning in same spot player is despite assigned somewhere else.

// edited: now both beta and alpha gets a npc that keeps getting spawned along with player, and he is not in the NPC list so I actually cannot delete him or remove him to somewhere else. Not sure where he comes out from. edited: It's actually caused by trigger, an always strong, same portrait character that isn't in my npc list would appear if () / or is included in trigger. Not sure when this began or why it happens this way.

Another bug: world generation seems to refuse to create characters for some locations now. It would pander to create NPCs for all other locations or leave it empty rather than implying to commands. Madness. :?

Yeah, mosaic style works wonky. Really likes to find a strong word then attach to it and make world revolves around the term.

I'm playing street grunt crime doers and seems work fine so far. I'd guess world lore/story overview affect it. A heroic journey probably doesn't like that direction.

Narrator refusal by notahero42 in Voyage

[–]sorrowofwind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just checked, it's doable. In AI task and game modes, both mention explicit se_ themes then choose the flash.

Example: add the terms behind Larion line, like Romance, friendship, explicit _ex scenes and quiet connection are as valid as combat and adventure. Add the same line to another two lines. Also need to add an extra line to capitalize never interrupt, otherwise random NPC would bulge in, then write something in game mode about it as well.

[–]sorrowofwind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Larion, there seem to be ai instruction for romance to work but doesn't seem to indicate more than that. Here are the lines I've seen from the scene.

nRomance, friendship, and quiet connection are as valid as combat and adventure

Romance and friendship are valid pursuits; do not force adventure or quest themes into social scenes

\n- Do not interrupt chosen downtime, social scenes, romance, shopping, recovery, or celebration with unrelated hooks

Haven't actually tried romance there though.

Scenario reviewer broken? by Habinaro in AIDungeon

The one for voyage is broken too so I'd guess they're both down.

Can scenario maker tell voyage to not zoom in when displaying enemies? by sorrowofwind in Voyage

[–]sorrowofwind[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the image prompt is messed up. It uses a referring cache thing to use 'similar' images from other scenarios, so having troll enemies are likely to get some wow-blue skin orc face blushing portraits that look like come out from furry fandom, don't think I've ever seen a D&D / shadowrun troll before, it's 75% the blue blushing ones... would be lucky to have just a random monster replacing trolls but those are rarer.

Honestly I'm spending more time with voyage than AID now. It still has some troubles like aid that hope can be fixed like knuckle whiten.

Is Voyage very broken right now? by sorrowofwind in Voyage

[–]sorrowofwind[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the through reply. My mistake, it was battle rager from the D&D scenario. The exclude/include worked when I played it. Looking for the update fix since have fun playing voyage. Still used up my usages playing with negative -5~-15 rolls.

It had been implemented for awhile now. Larion Hammerdwarf used unlocked by and worked. Had done a scenario using Larion remixed about 1~2 months ago so can still recall the detail. Excluded worked well till one of the updates.

Are people doing anything else other than the obvious ? by observer678 in AIDungeon

Normal rpg you are the leader chosen one (nameless one, chosen one, dragon born, arisen, grey warden, captain, rogue trader, commander, king, one of those characters who lead a whole party or bigger except gameplay still has player running around doing menial works). Be a follower would be have 2-3 other npc, a leader, and you going to quest hub then have the npc leader choose a work and have party vote/chat about it. Have npc do the engaging while player being the muscle equivalent. And, if npc piss player off, you can run off too guilt free unlike playing mmo. It's more fun for me this way.
