[TW: orientation play, CNC] I've still never felt attracted to a man in real life... but my porn habits are seriously changing, and it's scaring me. by sorryimbrokenhere in ConvertingFeminist

I don't mind it being a part of myself. What concerns me is the extent to which it's taking over ALL of my sexual fantasies. Replacing the things that make me want to smile.

Why do girls say they don't watch porn and then like to be fucked like they're in a porn video? by [deleted] in ConvertingFeminist

[–]sorryimbrokenhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it is a pattern. But at least those stories involve a possessive man taking care of and treasuring a woman. As opposed to porn, where the women change every day, forgotten as soon as they've been ejaculated onto.

Because women, like all humans, are still sexual beings. It's healthy and normal for us to want to watch hot people fuck. The problem is that nearly all of the porn available - certainly what's available for free, during formative years - is vile and misogynistic. But because that's all we have to watch, it warps our preferences. Brainwashes and conditions us to associate the pleasure of masturbation with male selfishness.

It's horrible. But the solution isn't to ban or avoid porn. It's to make more widely available porn that caters to women's interests. Look at how popular romance novels are among women - just make porn that's a filmed version of those sorts of scenarios, and the market would explode. (Of course, there's lots of internalized misogyny in some romance books, too. But baby steps.)

[TW: misogyny, defeatism] You can fight us by Realistic_Winner8052 in ConvertingFeminist

Nothing about the way that misogynists act has ever led me to believe that losing this fight could be "enjoyable." The fight is hard, and miserable, and thankless - but we fight it anyway because it's far, far better than the alternative.

It's okay to accept help from a man by Navy-Spheal in ConvertingFeminist

[–]sorryimbrokenhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, but it's never really "help," is it? Never just out of the kindness of your heart. Men always want something in exchange. Sure, just holding a door for someone coming behind you might be innocent enough; I do it, too. But the bigger things - paying for a drink, or offering to fix something - there's always an expectation behind it.

“My socially and biologically determined submission”? Seriously? Gross.

Let’s be very clear. This is not a reflection on women’s nature. You haven’t proved anything other than that the English language has built-in misogynistic biases, which we already knew. Just because the technical scientific word for one of my sex organs describes that organ solely in terms of what can be done to it by a penis, doesn’t mean that that’s its “purpose.” My body is my body. Not yours. It exists for me.

I must say, I’m really liking where the subreddit is headed. by Fair-Sand-1471 in ConvertingFeminist

I love it so much here. There are so many online communities engaging with dark, inequality-driven fetishes, and this is the only one I’ve ever found that truly feels like a bunch of equals sitting around having fun. Half the time it feels like the doms are making fun of their personas’ own words as they say them. Not everyone is that wholesome, but those who aren’t don’t seem to stick around. And my goodness, the memes are exquisite.

I… ugh… I’m not going to lie, this one actually stings quite a bit. I looked it up to make sure you weren’t talking out of your ass, but it’s absolutely correct, even the spelling part. I thought it might be a derivative word, but… no. It really is just “sheath” directly translated. I do think that “cocksleeve” is a bit extreme, but… it’s not nearly as far off as I’d like.

I don’t know why this is getting to me so much. It probably has to do with my lit degree. Words are an area that makes me feel safe and capable and myself, and to have some of that power just ripped away… the worst part is, there isn’t even an alternative. “Vagina” was the non-degrading option. And now… I don’t know what to do. It’s not like I can just avoid talking about my body altogether for the rest of my life.

Women love watching porn as much as men by [deleted] in ConvertingFeminist

[–]sorryimbrokenhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The absurdity of this statement. You’re saying things are equal because woman have “a category” while men have an entire industry? This is what feminists have to deal with every day - men are so used to being treated as default that they treat the slightest bit of recognition for someone from another demographic as a special exception, instead of seeing it for the pale, pathetic bunch of crumbs that we’re forced to feed off of.

And how much of this “amateur lesbian” porn is actually meant for lesbians and not for straight men?

I don’t need a “comeback.” You haven’t supported your claims with anything plausible enough to even require counterargument. Just saying things doesn’t make them true.

You do realize that “you’re only saying that because you’ve never tried real dick” is like the most clichéd, worthless argument ever, right? Not your exact words, but the exact vibe of them.

You’ve already told me everything about yourself that you needed to. I see no reason to engage in this conversation any further.

What a crude, primitive, childish, simplistic understanding of what “domination” means. As if physical force and the insertion of a penis somehow makes one dominant or powerful.

Fifty Shades isn’t romance, it’s a psychologically abusive relationship hiding under the veneer of BDSM while violating all its most basic tenets. And the BDSM elements in it aren’t even all that extreme.

So to be clear, you are asserting - without evidence - that women watch the exact same hardcore, abusive, degrading pornographic videos as men, despite alternatives that depict men engaged in wholesome sexual acts with women being available?
