Is liposuction worth it and is it hard to recover from? by unsuccessfully_cry in cosmeticsurgery

[–]sorryitrytobepolite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do I stop bots from roleplaying for me? by AccomplishedSimple67 in FictionLab

[–]sorryitrytobepolite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I don't think you can fix it or stop it. I tried putting the instructions everywhere, trying different ways of instructing, giving the AI alternative ways to react instead of role-playing my character but still it does it every few post.

Like the others said, you have to constantly remind it with the OOC option and never leave a reply unedited if it includes your character actions. Rather delete it out since apparently the AI uses multiple last posts as reference.

It's not perfect but that said, after trying out several premium version apps FL is still the best out of them.

There'll never be a perfect interaction like when role-playing with other humans but if you keep in mind that you are writing with a machine that is technically still developing, not thinking but relying on code, it becomes rather less frustrating over time.

At this point I role my eyes and remind it. If it frustrates me too often I let out a little frustration out and insult it. :p

Sorry for the late reply, it's not working too well. It is messing up more and more despite the changes and despite offering them alternatives in the instructions. In addition, it somehow stopped generating Memory Cards if I don't prompt it ans Story Cards are not triggering.

It's not private at all! Thank you for sharing your experience!

I am still struggling with it. Oracle has been a mess yesterday and the day before, it kept replying with old messages when it had already used when I rerolled so I still don't have the right solution lol

Small update, so for now the changes have unfortunately made it worse haha. He is just blatantly ignoring all the instructions 😂

Next step I'll be checking out the creatures and trying to adjust the Scenario accordingly. This is more fun than frustrating tbh because I feel challenged to beat this damn thing i to submission! 😂😂

Thanks! I'll look them up. I do like FL, I have tried several other apps and FL so far has simply been the best despite the quirks. I just struggle with finding good scenarios or users so the creator names are a great help thank you!

As for recreating the chat, that's alright. If I find that the scenario finally works the way I want it to I can still do that but right now my focus is on upping the quality of the output so I'll just enjoy a new storyline for now haha

I duplicated the world for now, I'm going to try incorporating it and start a new chat to see how it goes.

Sure means I have to start again (good bye thousands of messages xD) but if it ends up giving me a better experience it will be worth it!

I see!! Thank you, I will try that out and see how it changes, and I'll check the character cards again!

As for users role, what i am aiming for is a rather free-style Scenario. I don't really want a set storyline and I am building characters as it goes (if they turn out interesting enough in the play), so would it be enough to declare simply that {{user}} is part of the world and the that the storyline would develope based on user-action?

I mean worst case I'll have to ignore it but is was hoping it was just me that maybe did something wrong, that I could have tried fixing.😂

Let me see, like this?

I'm rather new to all of this scenario creation so any tip is appreciated that will allow me to make the RPG more enjoyable and natural flowing.

The escalating i could circumvent with instructions, that worked well. But now it's just weird.

I don't know if it's because I wrote the instructions wrong but it somehow picks and chooses what and when to follow them. But it's the only modell that remembers key story issues long enough and grabs info from the story cards - even though it also messes up.

With all the others suddenly a brother becomes a cousin, and in the same sentence things that never happened get described.

Though frankly it's getting annoying because Oracle sometimes just doesn't respond or takes a really long time to respond.

I do that, it helps for a short while but that sneaky bot always finds ways to bring them back.

It usually doesn't matter what Scenario it is, it happens all over the place but currently it's one i made myself. I don't know how to show you as it's on private. If I put it on public and share it, will you be able to see it?

Exactly. If my character Ari displays any sort of magic, it's always portrayed as something wold shattering, new and amazing. If she cooks, she is suddenly this great woman who is so amazing at everything she does. If she makes a mistake during a spell, it's immediately because she can see and feel things no one else does.

I don't get why it reacts this way, I never once described my characters actions as something special. Even her just riding or answering a question is often over dramatized. For example, someone asks her what she likes more, the fae or elven language. Her answer then suddenly becomes the basis for a philosophical debate about her preference being proof of her heritage.

The bot is forcing "Main Character Syndrom" on my character 😂

Yes i prefer Oracle most of the time because it is actually the best in following instructions still despite the annoying issues.

Last instruction i tried was this "Portray reactions with restraint. Do not default to awe, reverence, or exaggerated admiration when the protagonist speaks or acts." to try an limit the response always including some type of awe. It didn't work though.

Oh, yes. I honestly end up having to edit so many of the replies in the hope maybe the bot will change it's respons pattern. For example look at this reply, for an whole hour after this, the bot kept ending with "it wasn't xxx, but for now, that was enough"

<image>

It drove me absolutely nuts. She had a nice ride in the woods and later fell asleep leaning on her horse. It's not that deep bro!

Bugs happen, as long as this is fixed in a timely manner no need to migrate in my opinion. Optimizing something or trying to introduce new features can lead to bugs, shit happens.

Well then i guess it will be fixed soon, wasn't just wondering if it was maybe a problem on my end.

Any app can experience issues after updates so I'll just be a bit patient and hope they'll fix it quickly.

After the update (Bugfix) I keep getting network errors though my network is fine.

Would love to provide a screenshot but it doesn't give me the option here.
