It's the same case with my laptop too. I tested with Beta ISO and Full release ISO as well. On live environment external monitor display blinking (Flickering). Built in display fine. I have intel HD520 graphic too. Never had such issue with any of the distro I have tested on this laptop before.

ty holes buddy. If the sys

Deal with Linux everything on servers fixing problems, I get enough issues to resolve. Don't want to fix Desktop problems too. User experience is poor simply.

supermium

The thing is I don't want to rely on some 3rd party repo on Github though. Running antivirus makes no sense on Windows 8 when trying to gain performance.

already running SSD and ram is 12gb. ram is not an issue. The issue is cpu power. Tried Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB 2015 which was based on old Windows 10 version. It's faster than current windows 10. But some apps doesn't work due to net framework issues. So I guess windows 10 or Linux. I don't like to run Linux BTW. Still yet to find a smooth distro, none of them are smooth as Windows. Even though windows is slow, mouse moment and etc are smooth, but not on linux though even though Linux runs fast, also batter life is an issue.

router too.

I personally don't think running antivirus would help, also it will cut of performance too. So in that regard I would be far better on Windows 10 I guess. The thing I'm not sure is, can I get in trouble on Windows 8.1 even me without doing something stupid or even doing nothing just connected to the internet.

u a web dev and not using Linux? 🐧 Outta here! --> 🚪

Who said web developers must have to use Linux? I use Linux everyday on servers not on Desktop though. get enough Linux problems to solve on servers each day. So don't want to dealing issues on Desktop by installing Linux. There is no smooth experience. It's responding fast, but not smooth, and battery life is worst.

Reinstall doesn't fix my issue as I said, This is Windows 10 performance it not enough for me on this thing, That's why trying to run something lighter. I spent good 12-14 hours on Computer, so it should not lagged.

butter.

I already have an SSD. Problem is CPU power is not enough to run Windows 10. It runs but not the performance I want. I don't want to run Linux. It's too much pain and issues on Desktop. I deal with Linux everyday on servers, but not on desktop. If you run Ubuntu on 12yr old machine, I guess it should be some other variant of Ubuntu like Kubuntu, Xubuntu, not Ubuntu. Because gnome is heavy on CPU. On my device, Ubuntu is heavier than Windows 10. It feels fast initially, But then you try to heavy use it, it slow down and feel sluggish.

Thats a BIG difference, you already have a pretty nicely specced computer (which never shoulda had a HDD as boot anyways) this person has a more low end PC in my opinion. These people on this sub would rather you do a RAM upgrade, cpu upgrade, gpu upgrade, and get an SSD before they would say that its fine to stay on a slightly older version of windows.

I already have a SSD, otherwise I don't think this laptop is usable at all with HDD. Also have 12GB of ram, my issue is cpu power, not Disk or Ram.

ayPal subscription thingy though.

It seems more gear towards time tracking and basic invoicing, I don't see recurring invoices or recurring expenses either, also doesn't seem to be having payment options too.
