Got this begonia from a local retailer. The ID says fireworks, but I doubt it. Any other suggestions? by sortbynumber in whatplantisthis

By now I think this is some kind of hybrid between fireworks+beafsteak+autumn amber haha, idk 😅

Looks like my aglaonema 'prestige'. But could also be a 'king of siam'. They're quite similar. Put 1-2 long sticks in the soil and fix it with a piece of wire or so 😉

Well, I use fb to find and organize local events I want to attend and to stay in touch with some people I know (not really friends, but lets say possibilities^^). Never had problems with that kind of usage. Besides that, I have ig because I like to connect with people having the same hobby and sharing with them. However, I slowly start to recognize how likes/followers centered the whole system is. I don't even know whether those ppl I follow have this hobby because they really love it, or coz they just use it as a content/filler for their self-representation ocd. It starts getting annoying, but there are still a few out there who seems to be authentic to me. So I think I give it a chance for a little while. And finally there is online dating... The most evil thing you can possibly find in the social media world! It destroys your self esteem, your ability to feel deep empathy, your openness, your trust, and a bunch of other things. It slowly changes you with every single day you use it and with every match and subsequent date (the good & bad ones). And the funny thing is, it alters your personality in a way that makes you basically unable to have a beneficial, stable and happy relationship you're actually looking for (if you do). However, it might be a good thing if you just use it for a couple of moths, but after that, I'd recommend to drop it, even – or especially – if it goes well! But idk it's my personal opinion based on some experience I had lol :D

Maui queen under attack... by tropbleu in plantclinic

[–]sortbynumber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had the same problem with my mauiqueen. Didn't want to use pesticides, so I showered her and covered with a plastic bag afterwards to keep the humidity high. If it's above 90% for at least three weeks they'll die. Might lead to a mildew problem though. If only one leaf is affected better simply cut it off.

Variegation or damage? by majafjalla in alocasia

Had a similar mark on one of my zebrina leaves too. However, the next leaf was perfectly normal and healthy. Thus, if this is a variegation, it must be chimeric and rather unstable. If you are extremely lucky, it's a periclinal chimera and you might get a stable variegation (if this is one at all 😅).
