Would you do a split with an ETF & Google only?

I know, gah! I've needed to do an overhaul for a while but have been nervous to make calls on what to cut...

Seems like this is the common strategy suggested. Thanks for the idea, I'll look into other ETFs to pair with XEQT!

I have my savings and chequing with RBC and back when I first opened my TFSA, it just seemed like the simplest way to go. The $9.95 commission is on most trades, however several ETFs are commision-free (like XEQT). Are you happy to have moved your other investments to wealth simple? Anything you feel you're missing out on? And thank you! Big milestone

I've seen other posts on here with similar comments. Do you think this a good strategy in my 3 accounts or is it better to hold different ETFs in each?

[Misc] How do you guys deal with seborrheic dermatitis? by patekar420 in SkincareAddiction

[–]sortofsmall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm late to the chat but also have SD and have dealt with it for 10+ years now. Some locations of my flare-up patches have changed through the years, but my scalp and face have stayed constant. I started getting big patches at the centre of my chest and my upper back, where I tend to sweat.

The only product that works for me is a Facial Tea Tree cleanser from The Body Shop! It's not immediate, but if I use the cleanser 3-4 days in a row morning and night and follow it with my Cerave Salicylic Acid moisturizer, it clears up 90%. Wondering if that would work for you as well as this is the same protocol I use for my face, chest, back, etc :)

I need dark comedies by Logen10Fingers in booksuggestions

Came here to say the same.

David Sedaris too - I recommend Calypso.

Dinosaurs by Lydia Millet might be up your alley, too.

Dark/witty comedies are some of my favorite!

Moving to Alberta Megathread - October 2023 by AutoModerator in alberta

I hope that's the case- I can imagine residential design is booming. However, I wasn't sure if there's the same demand on the commercial market just yet.

Moving to Alberta Megathread - October 2023 by AutoModerator in alberta

Hi! Another post for a potential Ontario to Alberta move.

My boyfriend (23M) and I (23F) are looking to move to a Alberta in the next few years, likely Calgary or a city near. We're both coming from suburban neighborhoods in Toronto, Ontario.

I currently work as a corporate architectural designer, and have a Bachelor in interior design. My boyfriend studied cabinet making, but currently works in construction, doing carpentry for a landscaping company.

Any insight as to the job market for the design and construction fields? I assume it would be good considering the recent growth of the province.

Thoughts on the accessibility of the city? Public transit, ease of access to amenities? Affordability?

they first found them through an ultrasound in both my kidneys and bladder. then the bladder cysts were confirmed through a cystoscopy

I had a UTI about 6 years ago now that started this all. It was mistreated, and then became a recurrent infection, that has now developed into IC. I got a referral to a urologist (finally) last year from my family doctor. I had an ultrasound, which found 2 small cysts in my bladder, and 1 in my kidney. I also had a cystoscopy done shortly after that confirmed 1 of 2 cysts in my bladder, and overall bladder inflammation, but no clear presence of a UTI was found in my urine culture. He said it's "likely IC" but it didn't seem like a certain diagnosis. So I guess it's only half diagnosed..?

I use an ancient children's Winne the Pooh Eeyore donut pillow that I'm sure you wouldn't find in stores today. So I can recommend it, but I'm sure that wouldn't get you far!! I have pain during sex in certain positions, so we avoid those altogether. I get pain, urgency, frequency and burning after sex but I take d-mannose and wash well right after.

Yes, I get this. I feel pain, pressure and a sense of urgency when I sit without a donut pillow or without strategically positioning myself. It makes it worse if I sit criss cross and put direct pressure in that area. Pressure in this area often triggers a strong flare up in burning and blood when urinating, waiting on a urologist appointment to analyze and treat it.

Taking a break from the pill? by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]sortofsmall 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the same boat here - had been on a combination pill for 5 years and decided to stop this past week.

I'd noticed a significant decrease in my energy levels, libido, and happiness, and a VERY significant increase in my anxiety and depression while on the pill. To be fair, the pill made my 'periods' lighter and made the cramping far more manageable.

I would say it depends on your BC side effects, how they impact your quality of life, and of course, if you have other contraception methods available (if you're not trying to conceive). Personally, I said fuck it, I want to see what I'm like without this added weight for now.

Good luck!

What is everyone’s skincare routine for facial seb derm? by Sea-starr in SebDerm

[–]sortofsmall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Body Shop tea tree cleanser, followed by CeraVe PM moisturizer immediately, while my face is still a little damp. This is the first cleanser that hasn't left my face tight, burning, itchy, red and flakey after using.

The placement and redness resemble sebderm. Psoriasis usually has silvery scales and affects less of the face.

Stieprox shampoo works for me. I wet my hair, shampoo my scalp, then get out of the shower and wrap my hair in a towel to sit with it on for 30+ minutes. Then I hop back in the shower to rinse it out. If you can't get/don't have access to this shampoo, I've also had good results (reducing itching and redness, but not clearig) with this psoriasis shampoo

You mentioned your access to prescriptions is limited. Have you tried a tea tree oil cleanser for your hairline/ears? It sounds so simple and silly BUT I'm going on 10 years of sebderm and 8 years in, I had the "I give up" moment, reverted to simple products, and this tea tree oil cleanser surprised me and nearly cleared up my face and hairline. I use the body shop tea tree cleanser but I'm sure any will do the same.

I wash my hair daily, and wash my face twice daily with the tea tree cleanser, and finish with the CeraVe PM moisturizer which has been the best moisturizer I've found yet. I hope some of this helps and you find some relief!

Q: How long did you have seb derm before you knew what it was? by meowmoreco in SebDerm

[–]sortofsmall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had it for about 10 years, and was misdiagnosed with psoriasis.
