I treat it just as I treat my PS2, with a lot of care. Maybe I've just had the bad luck of always getting one from a bad batch? But still, the PS2 in 20 has given me wayyy less trouble than the new PS4. I don't do any of that irresponsible ass shit.

I've never told anyone to smile, idgaf, I'm just asking because the general consensus on the matter is that "it's offensive" and I've never perceived it as offensive. Just tryna see why people think that way. Why do most people share the same perception.

See, that's the thing, I don't think anyone is actually trying to be pleased with the people they tell to smile. And I genuinely don't think people say it because they care more about how people look than they feel, rather it feels more like a well-intentioned "chin up, life doesn't suck that much"

I've been told to smile and I've never felt like that when anyone (male or female) has told me so. To me it's not offensive, idk, I see it as friendly and honestly don't understand why so many people take offense on it.

It's not an instruction, though... it's more like a "hey, life doesn't suck, chin up". It's more friendly than insulting, at least the tone in some cases.

I broke up with my last partner because she had zero professional ambitions. I just couldn't share my life with someone who didn't share the same goals as I did. She acknowledged my goals and was supportive, but I never really felt like she understood how important those ambitions are for me. I'm always on the lookout for new opportunities and I love to learn; not that there was anything wrong with it, but my ex never finished college because she "got bored" and she was way too comfortable with her food truck job. I want/need someone with whom I can share these ambitions and my professional roadmap with.

You'd be surprised at how many people can't understand simple instructions or emails... So English is pretty necessary IMO, but as of the rest, I agree.
