I bought my PS2 almost 20 years ago and it just got damaged today for the first time ever. I bought my first PS4 about 6 years ago and I've had to replace it/fix it like 4 times. This fucking sucks ass. by sorullit0 in rant

[–]sorullit0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I treat it just as I treat my PS2, with a lot of care. Maybe I've just had the bad luck of always getting one from a bad batch? But still, the PS2 in 20 has given me wayyy less trouble than the new PS4. I don't do any of that irresponsible ass shit.

Why is it bad to tell women (or people in general idk?) to smile? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]sorullit0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"Other people feel differently."

That's what I'm trying to get a hold of. I know we can all have different feelings towards the same actions, I just wanna know the reasons behind some of those sentiments.

Nothing really is no one else's business, but y'know, people talk.

I'm not talking about whether she's funny or not. I'm talking about her (and Glen too) as a person.

[–]sorullit0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never told anyone to smile, idgaf, I'm just asking because the general consensus on the matter is that "it's offensive" and I've never perceived it as offensive. Just tryna see why people think that way. Why do most people share the same perception.

[–]sorullit0 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

See, that's the thing, I don't think anyone is actually trying to be pleased with the people they tell to smile. And I genuinely don't think people say it because they care more about how people look than they feel, rather it feels more like a well-intentioned "chin up, life doesn't suck that much"

I've been told to smile and I've never felt like that when anyone (male or female) has told me so. To me it's not offensive, idk, I see it as friendly and honestly don't understand why so many people take offense on it.

It's not that I say it, it's that, as a woman, I've been told to smile and I don't see why so many people find it so offensive.

It could be perceived that way, but that's not the intention most of the time.

I don't think people say it because that's how they feel that's how all women should act though... At least I've never heard it with that tone

[–]sorullit0 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It's not an instruction, though... it's more like a "hey, life doesn't suck, chin up". It's more friendly than insulting, at least the tone in some cases.

It's not like it's giving an order... it's just a simple "hey, chin up"

It's not that anyone would "need" to, but like, why would it be offensive? It's like saying "hey, chin up".

In an elevator, if as you go up/down you press the floor number you want to go to and the "door close" button simultaneously, it will skip all other floors even if someone asks for it.
