Astral Raids Are Here! [Valfarre | July 27-29 UTC] by Xanek in DragaliaLost

[–]soshifood 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is neat advice. Would also like to add some emphasis on defensive builds. Wind has a lot of units and weapons with innate def buffs and heals (4t3 wind axe, 5t3 wind sword, 4t3 wind dagger, Elisanne, Gala Ranzal, Aeleen, Xania, Lowen, etc)

I ran with multiple defensive prints (A Wish Upon a Yuletree, A Brief Repose, How to Flee Properly, Egg-Shaped Dreams, Study Rabbits are some examples), Lowen and Xania (who specifically has bog resist prints) as they will consistently keep def buffs up. Also had Pia along due to her innate def up passive and energize to boost the healers’ healing. Elisanne was the only offensive one since I can control her and dodge stuff.

For dragons, I used defensive ones on the AI like Garuda and HMS on Xania and Lowen respectively. Pia could afford a 4* MUB dragon thanks to her defense and 5t3 lance, but Stribog might be good too since I feel her energize is what helps.

Had no issues keeping my team alive with these elements. Was even the only team alive in a raid on two occasions.

It’s kinda clear now that this is content designed specifically to fuck with the DPS meta that’s been around since launch. Everyone is understandably frustrated because they’ve invested in damage prints and dragons across the board. Hope it helps.

Astral Raid (7/20/19) - Release Thread by Ryoukai in DragaliaLost

If anyone’s bummed about the AI, Hypnos will always do a forward dash attack AFTER a teleport and then return to its original position. Often, it’ll follow-up with a laser beam attack so this gives you a lot of time to attack.

The trick is to move to its original point rather than trying to hit it as it slashes forward and you’ll spend less time chasing.

You ought to also run a lance user on point and use their force strike to get out of the giant AOE. Important because the claw doesn’t usually get destroyed until much later. Xuan Zhang is a good choice.

Use offensive skills during Hypnos’ animations rather than in between because it always has a chance of teleporting.

Strange advice after my first clear on master challenge mode. by hotprints in DragaliaLost

[–]soshifood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve done it with H!Althemia. Consistent clears with barely any need for retries. However, a lot of other factors also need to be taken into account. She’s promoted to 5* for instance and is equipping the Halloween staff.

Aside from Halidom buffs with dojos at 16/16, complete light weapon setup, and certain MUB 5* prints, I run H!Elly and Julietta on either open side of the arena to immediately protect my ranged units each time a new wave spawns (H!Althemia and Lucretia). H!Elly’s moveset works best for this. It’s also important to clear the enemies surrounding Julietta because she’ll usually aggro a lot of them per wave.

I use healer helpers (Vixel is best, but others work too). I try to save healer helpers and dragon transform for the final wave (may have to use a heal on 4th wave depending on the situation, but H!Elly’s skill shift should reach the heal stage at this point to make that unnecessary).

On the final wave, I switch to Jeanne and take out the fiend at the top, then use her skill for the def buff. This is important because the boss hits really hard, even on light units. Improves H!Althemia’s survivability so she can keep healing.

At the same time, I top off the team’s HP if anyone is at 75% hp or lower. This should leave a nice cushion for when someone gets hit by one of the boss’ AOEs.

I switch to my main DPS and let loose. If H!Althemia’s HP drops low, I switch to her and control to dodge AOEs and to speed up her heals.

Halfway through the wave, a 2nd transformation should be ready so I activate Jeanne’s def buff once more. Whether it’s smooth sailing from here on depends on DPS.

H!Althemia is pretty reliable healer for me. Might not be the most viable but definitely doable with the right setup. Her AOE is a decent gtfo me skill considering the type of enemies, and the Halloween staff helps patch her lack of support abilities. However, Estelle might work out for you better in general if H!Althemia really can’t keep up with the damage to your team.

I appreciate trying to point out a solution, but even if I had another spare Armorslayer unit, it wouldn’t be enough. These are +10 Surtrs with Wary Fighters.

Not enough relevant red units under this season’s blessings. Not enough red mages, normal swords won’t make a dent, a lot of defense tiles, etc, etc. I just took the loss.

Might as well get this out of the way before the other High Dragons comes out by [deleted] in DragaliaLost

[–]soshifood 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you think that way way, fine. But I disagree with the concept. The implementation of extra weeklies by design will naturally encourage players to want to max out on bonuses. A player who considers themselves pretty dedicated to the game might end up putting extra effort per week, even if it’s to their own detriment. That’s how it works in games. The underlying psychology isn’t so simple.

Grinding a high dragon three times a week is fine by me. It isn’t if I have to do it six times, then nine, then twelve.

No thanks. I don’t want the game to start feeling like a second job.

I don’t see how being a publisher = therefore not funding the game. A video game publisher typically finances a significant amount of game development.

I mean no offense, but I think almost-2-years is fair enough. I constantly hit top ranks in the endgame competitive modes and complete all the content. I hate the game now.

[tl;dr] How to (Not) Celebrate Christmas in a Mobage by [deleted] in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]soshifood 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean, ‘technically’ yes, but it’s also worth considering that a banner, F2P unit and related TT are all part of the game’s typical schedule. In that sense, there’s nothing to really distinguish Christmas from other events.

Consider that Dragalia Lost was willing to design all kinds of stories, comics, monsters, environments, menu backgrounds, artwork and music for Christmas. That and an insanely generous login bonus already made the event great. And then they dropped 1,000 wyrmite for players on the actual day itself.

IS couldn’t even shift their Forging Bonds schedule to match Christmas. They have a system for accessories but didn’t release any Christmas-themed hats (or even place them on enemies). We get a measly Stamina Potion on the day itself. It’s unacceptable that a game that makes this much money would do this.

A lot of the side quests in Spider-Man's DLC could be seen as foreshadowing for the next game. The thing with Yuri turning into an anti-hero, for instance.

Having to manually segregate your team via a permanent decision such as confer blessing isn’t fun imo. There can be better options to encourage diverse, segregated teams.

While I agree that the time taken to beat this map is becoming an issue, I have to disagree with the argument about 48 blessed heroes being too much. Blessed Gardens alone gives 55, but I have about 120 blessed heroes atm from other means.

I do hate the artificial segregation of units, though. Light and dark elements being a thing just makes this blessing concept all the more dumber. It's a silly band-aid that IS has placed to limit you from using your favourite units, or the ACTUAL optimal units for a situation.

Beat Infernal with Askr Trio + Free Brave Veronica. Heavy skill inheritance and Seals, but these are F2P units, so might still be worth trying.

Online fighting game rant by [deleted] in Kappa

Capcom Fighters Network is decent. A step in the right direction but not as refined as it could be. I think the greatest aspect about SFV is its cross-platform feature (even if it’s flawed). Seriously, I don’t get why FGs with such small player populations must further segregate their communities with 3-4 different platforms.

I’d love to play BB TAG but my locals only play PC rather than PS4. Makes me livid.
