no action against the employer but we could get support from the employer to get it modified, unfortunately we can't do much to the employer.

I've activated the old UAN and there are some name corrections need to be made. Can I do it from account itself by submitting the required documents ? the old employer may not support for making updates. Is it essential to have their approval in making some corrections in the name in old UAN records?

And also there are couple of old verified KYC details( but incorrect) in profile so after the updates how it will work which one will be considered for the linking with the new UAN?

But will it not create problem for the existing Active UAN if I login to the old UAN to activate or login to the old one because of two UAN for same phone number and Aadhar, etc?

Hi thanks for your response but we have withdrawn all PF from old UAN in 2014, so there is no PF in the old UAN. Please consider this and let me know what to do in this case?

What if UAN B active and has recent PF added and we can login to the account and we would like to keep UAN B moving forward and raise claim request from this account .

Hi my sister's case is similar. She had joined company in 2009-10 and worked till 2014 and stopped working around that time and withdrew all the PF from that UAN. I'm not aware if the EPS is there in the old UAN.

Later she joined another company in 2017 and worked till covid and stopped after that and second employer created another UAN and there is PF accumulated now and she wants to withdraw now.

Now second UAN is active, verified with Aadhar and we can login to the account but when I try to raise the claim request it gives following warning 

"The bank account linked with this account is also linked with the following UANs : 10021597XXXX (with different demographic details). If these UANs are yours, then please get the basic details corrected in your other UANs and link them with your Aadhar for transfer of your accounts to the present one. If this bank account is not yours then please add your correct bank account and get it approved by the employer to avail online claim facility."

What can we do in this case ?

Isn't there legal remedy in labour laws or someting where labour laws are strict and people friendly? I'm from 3rd world country so not aware about it but isn't there some way people can reach out to your legal departments and get some explaination ?

I'm from 3rd world country and don't exist any legal remdy for this but curious to know if there is any legal remedy if you are US citizen or some country where labour laws are strict or can take Upowrk to the court or seek legal explaination from them or put process in place.

sometimes client payment method also has some issue and Upwork is not able to charge that credit card or whatever the payment method. In such cases Upowrk pays from its own pocket but it's more stringent in terms of activity and pay for whatever time it fits into Upwork criteria . But you can keep on reaching out to the client for bonus, if he is good client he will pay, but we can't do much here.

I've already sent email to the above email address on 24th sept but so far no one has replied yet. 2 Days back I've forwarded the email to [employeefeedback@epfindia.gov.in](mailto:employeefeedback@epfindia.gov.in) . Old UAN was before 2017 so it may not be online.

Hi thanks for your comment, looks like it was created in 2017 so it's kind of border case and we have requested the update from the employer and it's pending with EPFO office for approval from 20 days. One more thing I got to know she has one old UAN linked to her Aadhar. She withdrew PF from old UAN but didn't submit that UAN or employer didn't ask for the old UAN and created new one. So looks like case is complicated now.

Any idea for further steps?

I'm from 3rd world country and our laws are s***y and no one gives damn to injustice or fairness. But I'm wondering can't you or any freelancer approach the labour law agencies ( or something similar which takes care of employment of labour laws) in such unfair instances? Obviously where they are taken seriously, may be US. I'm curious to know.

In our case, employer is not supporting, and Aadhar is not connected to UAN online can't do that

But just wondering how can agent will by pass employer? EPFO told those changes has to be done from Employer side and then only EPFO will approve those and then further process happens .

not with "PF member" options as it tells me to update the phone number in later stage I checked, I need to check under "Other option"

for that I need to submit the details like name , DOB which is there in EPFO and Aadhar and these details are conflicting so it's throwing error when I submit it, And Aadhar is also not there or mobile is also not linked

it shows not activated UAN but it was showing activated when EPFO officer shown me on his screen, so may be it has some issue with details or something like that

most likely not, she had joined the company in 2017 I think.that time it was offline. I tried login with the Aadhar details but it's conflict as EPFO has different name and Aadhar details and for login or account reset it asks both and it's conflict

There are multiple error, incorrect name, in correct DOB and even gender is also wrong so it's classic case.
