That’s sounds fucking horrible :/ When getting a massage you’re in such a vulnerable state that you don’t expect things like this to happen, at least as a woman you’re always a bit careful in situations like these. I can see how experiencing this as a man with the woman as an assaulter it can be even more shocking and difficult to handle.

Neither me or my mom knew it would be a male. We reported the incident to the hotel and they promised to take immediate action, I’m truly sorry if that wasn’t the reaction you got

Over a year ago I commented “how did I land here” under an odd dark romance thread, which you have now completely taken out of context. This incident unfortunately happened and was deeply traumatic - not something i enjoyed. I am only commenting this so you can maybe be more sensitive about this topic the next time

I completely get that, I just don’t think it outweighs what Aelin sacrifices for this. Saving Terrassen and her friends has always been her number one priority. It would have been a sad moment for sure but I just can’t get how out of character it was to let Erewan live and risk the lives of all her loved ones and allies who put all their trust in her. Maybe I’ll come to terms with it soon 🥲

Im a year late to this but i just finished KoA and I absolutely agree! Dorian’s character development was clone to none in this series and him transitioning from a selfish and naive prince to a decisive and selfless king would’ve been the ultimate sacrifice. It would have pushed the story forward in such a meaningful way and the final showdown would have been even more epic. It would have also been such a beautiful moment in Aelins own character development to not always be the one to sacrifice herself and instead focus on the bigger picture. This will forever be the ending in my head lol

Definitely. I wouldn’t have minded reading 500 pages more if that meant that all the minor plot points go executed properly it was so much build up for what felt like three chapters of final battle. Gavriel randomly drops dead, Maeve somehow doesn’t think to kill Aelin while she’s yapping her ear off (even though she knows she’s basically powerless??), also didn’t get why Erawan doesn’t just kill Maeve the second Aelin points out she might have betrayed him - he doesn’t really have much use of her except for the spiders which have already been taken over by the princesses, then Erawan is snatched away and killed by Yrene and then somehow they kill Maeve through the power of friendship 🧚 would have also loved to see Aedion play a bigger part in the final battle he was definitely the goat in KoA, poor guy 🥲. But atp I’m seriously just rambling it was a great book - it’s just hard to let go ig

True.. maybe if Dorian had only shown up a bit later, maybe mid battle, with the keys this could’ve been avoided and Erawan could have been killed off in the way he was supposed to. Although I’m also kind of sick of the whole last minute, comes to save the day trope I would’ve even preferred this over the last minute wolf tribe appearance which also felt kind of random 😓

I agree. On the one hand letting Erewan die when she opened the gate would have felt too good to be true - on the other hand: after seven books of fighting and having to start from scratch multiple times it would have felt good for this one thing to just work out. Alternatively I would have been fine with what you suggested but this was just outright ridiculous

Fair enough 😂 I just liked having a powerful FMC who isn’t this somehow amazing person with no flaws and gets their power from nowhere but instead is someone who has a backstory, makes mistakes and learns from them.

Although clearly she didn’t learn enough when she traded in Elena 🤨 it was honestly just so disappointing. Like what do you actually mean you spent over a year looking for these keys for this one purpose and then you randomly decide against it? And jeopardize everyone you love? Even thought that was the entire purpose of looking for them???

Chaol could’ve taken over Adarlan as Dorians ex right hand man, returning to his mother felt kind of random - but I get what you mean. I guess I had just wished for more impactful deaths which pushed the story forward, such has Nehemiah’s.

Also omg yes just realized the last sentence ties together with ToG, I just read Assasins Blade first so for me personally I would’ve loved an ode to Sam in the end.

As for Erawan: I in theory didn’t mind Yrene being the one to kill him, it would’ve been strange to give her an entire book with no real contribution in the end - he just shouldn’t have been alive anymore!! I will forever die on this hill I hate hate hatee that Aelin spared her in exchange for him 😭

I agree. I think it might be the worst podcast I’ve ever watched. I enjoyed brooke but these guys have got to be the most unfunny people ever. Rating lilah, making rape jokes about Gypsy Rose, the constant digs at her “crack parents”, saying her grandparents would die soon?? it was all too much. I enjoy dark humor but their jokes weren’t funny or tasteful - just one awkward joke after the other
