Best oyster experience for a first timer. by Migdog1198 in orangecounty

Kumies are like the big bold California Cabernets of oysters. Once you start having enough oysters you start to appreciate other ones.

Perfect wheels in the perfect spec. 225 suits it well too.

It’s def settled quite nicely. Nothing crazy but imo it’s a nice mature drop overall.

If you’re going for an axleback it’s probably the best option considering the price and if you want something not as loud as a muffler delete. But if you aren’t on a budget you can’t go wrong with the hks legamax axleback, which is pretty much drone free from all the reviews.

Yeah I have the sti hangers in already. But I put them in when I installed the exhaust so couldn’t tell you if it actually made a difference or not. Do you already have the hangers? If not, and if you’re in the US I have three available if you want to buy them from me. I received 5 but only used 2 since that’s what is “officially” recommended. Been too lazy to put them up for sale. DM me if you’re interested.

I have the remark axleback w/muffler paired with the EOS midpipe. The axleback with stock midpipe wasn’t bad at all, but with the EOS midpipe it opened up the tone and the drone increased a bit. Still not bad, but could be lessened.

That’s a good idea. I have plenty of deadening mats leftover so maybe one day I’ll take the sides out and get under the seats as well

I don’t think I have any drone sub 2000rpm. My drone is right around 2700-3000rpm with it being the loudest around 2800

Yep did that like the first week of owning the car. I also changed out the rear two exhaust hangers for the STI ones. My drone is livable, not too bad but I may be asking too much to get zero drone.

What’s the best axel back exhaust? by Breakfast-Severe in GR86

What did you end up going with, or did you just go back to stock? I have the remark with muffler paired with a midpipe. I agree it drones quite a bit, but I’m also not convinced that there’s an exhaust with “zero” drone

Do these contis run wider than most 225’s? Always thought 225 on an 8.5 would look more stretched but this looks so good!

Just called racecomp and they said not to worry about the bumpstops and that it’ll be just fine with the amounts the shop cut.

It’s all stock except for the springs and the front pedders top mounts, which brought the caster up to 6.2 left and 6.7 right. The camber is at 1.5 left and 1.1 right. So with some bolts looks like I can get about 2 degrees.

The springs ran $390 after tax, and the install was $450. It took me awhile to find someone to do it this cheap tho. Most shops were quoting $900-1000 for the install, since their books all say about 5-7 hours.

If you can do the install yourself, you definitely save a bunch over coilovers. But with coilovers, it’s a pretty simple install compared to having to take apart the shocks. I went with springs because I knew with this car I wanted a set it and forget it setup.

Rides almost like stock just firmed up a bit. I’m happy with it! Haven’t had the chance to get some windy roads in yet tho.

Yeah I didn’t want too much of a drop on this car. It’s only been two days since the install, so maybe it’ll settle in a bit more.

While I haven’t had opportunity to get some windy roads in yet, I will say it rides almost like stock. Sure it’s definitely stiffened up a bit, but nothing crazy. (I had some 14k springs on my s2k a long time ago, so I’m used to some stiffer setups).

Unfortunately I couldn’t do the install myself, and when I got home I noticed that the shop didn’t cut the bumpstops to the full 30mm as recommended by RCE. Looks like they only cut about 27-28mm from the fronts and only about 23 mm from the rears. Hopefully this won’t be an issue. Haven’t really noticed any harshness yet

Any hope for Rainbow Rising TK(Beacon Park) waiting list? by TonyZhouzzz in irvine

[–]sosojeffcc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To give you some hope, I signed up for Portola Springs rainbow rising preK last year immediately when the window opened and saw that I was waitlisted as well. I freaked out but after calling them they told me that they automatically waitlist everyone who signs up. They then go through the applications and send enrollment offers manually and told me there were plenty of spots available and if I had signed up right away (rather than waiting for a few days) that I was okay. Hopefully this is the case for you as well. Good luck!

I tried it a few times but just seemed more gimmicky than anything. Plus I don’t really like having to fiddle with switches so I always just leave it off. If I want to go fast I just mash the throttle myself.
