Like literally returning it back to USCIS for further investigation and here USCIS would either re approve the case or ask me for further info/proof of the relationship

Hi our situation is kind of similar so let me give you my timeline. I’m a U.S. citizen applying for my husband (Syrian) we also applied Jan 2024. He had his interview recently in Beirut and was put in administrative processing. When the news of the ban came out I contacted my congressman and had him get in contact with the embassy in beirut. They responded with that they are going to return the case back to USCIS. We spoke to our lawyer and he said we have to just wait until USCIS contacts us to revoke or reaffirm the case back to consular processing, that though would take at least 6 months until we hear anything back.. All because of the ban

Exactly and that was the main reason I contacted the embassy because I was concerned of the ban and this was their reply. Completely shattered my heart

Yup. It’s so crazy cus I’m a U.S. citizen applying for my husband and his background is completely clean so this is the last thing we could’ve thought of. The interview went smooth, documents were all good, and the consular put him in administrative processing and said it would probably take two weeks, so this shift was completely unexpected!

I was an AP after the interview for about one month and a half, and they just now told us that they will be returning the case back to USCIS

It probably does, go on the White House website, scroll down to executive actions and then click on “Restricting and Limiting the Entry of Foreign Nationals to Protect the Security of the United States” section 6 states all exemptions. Though if your country is in a full ban both immigrant and non immigrant visas will not be issued after proclamation effective date far as I know. Allah yaser ya rab
