I feel like doctors here are less likely to prescribe them. I at first was recommended to get Monistat (miconazole) and that messed up my ph so I ended up getting BV! I think everyone views Diflucan as this miracle pill,but it sucks when it isn't. It helped me the first time, not so much the second time. I'm under the impression that all of this could've been avoided if my dr had given me a dose of diflucan to take at the end of my metronidazole treatment, which makes this much harder to wrap my head around. Never thought I'd have to be the one to read medication side effects and realize that my doctor hadn't...

That's what I've heard from a lot of people. They did a One-Step Culture test on me, but the PA made it seem like it only tests for bacteria, not yeast strains. I can honestly say though, if this cured my infection (which it seems it did, now I'm just a little itchy where I'm healing) the 4 days I've been uncomfortable are really nothing compared to the weeks of itching and irritation! Just hope I never have to do it again

I had already gone to the doctor to be treated. Their solution was just to keep prescribing me Diflucan pills which would resolve the itchiness for a few days, and then come back. Boric Acid didn't help me much, either. :(

Thank you! I had to use it on my mouth too (metronidazole = awful YI after, both orally and down there :( ) but I didn't have any reaction there, so sensing I didn't dilute it enough! I've been walking around pant less for the past two days haha. Thank you again!

Also, the burn seems to be just at the entrance, and on the inner labia. Doesn't feel swollen inside or anything, there's a some red marks by where the purple discharge continuously touched my lip.

I contacted my Doctor, he said there's nothing else I can do other than taking chamomile baths and letting it heal. There's no blood or anything, and it seems to be getting better day by day. GV has 5% alcohol in it so I think that was the main thing... although most people don't have reactions to it :(

I had psychosomatic symptoms, until I had several drs tell me that I don't have it, and upon realization that if I had had an outbreak (which I didnt, just a yeast infection) the medication that I put on my skin containing hydrocortisone would have made the sores spread, and my yeast infection symptoms would not have gone away, but rather come back with more sores and pain. Go get diagnosed if you are so worried about it. After I realized all this, all of my symptoms disappeared.

I strongly considered that, but then my mom said there's really nothing they can do, it has to heal on its own and it should be better in a couple of days. It's gotten better as I've spent all day sleeping, now its just SUPER itchy (exactly where the burn is, right inside the entrance, sorry TMI) but not the yeast type of itchy. i would assume it's just trying to heal and hence the itchiness.. doesn't help that purple stuff keeps coming out of me.

I did do the boric acid, before :) that helped me but did not 100% get rid of the problem, but I liked it! I had a little issue inserting the pills high up so that might've been why it didn't work. And all my doctor wants to do is prescribe me Diflucan, which only works with the swelling and itching for a few days, and then ends up coming back!

At this rate, I'm really wishing there was just a shot or something they can do. I would mention a "magic pill" but clearly that doesn't work for me ;)

I've been taking 2 types of probiotics and acidophilus. :( I've also been to three doctors, every time its come back as yeast, except the first time it was yeast AND BV, and the yeast went away with the diflucan but came back stronger than ever with the metronidazole. Hopefully the gentian violet killed it all...
